  • Patent number: 5204731
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for measuring the coordinates of a survey point. The apparatus uses a reflecting mirror at the survey point, a tachymeter for transmitting light to the reflecting mirror and for receiving light reflected from the reflecting mirror, first calculating means for calculating the coordinate values of two positions of the reflecting mirror, and second calculating means for calculating a coordinate value of the survey point from the coordinate values of the two reflecting mirror positions. In operation, the tachymeter transmits light to the reflecting mirror at the survey point wherein the reflecting mirror is locatable at two points present on a line passing through the survey point and which are separated from the survey point by predetermined distances.

  • Patent number: 5093839
Abstract: A frequency diversity receiving system is based on cancellation of a C/A (Clear/Acquisition) code in a GPS (Global Positioning System). Spread spectrum signals of a P code (Precision) code is picked up by removing, in an interference removal circuit, spread spectrum signals of the C/A code out of spread spectrum signals of L.sub.1 band which are transmitted from GPS satellites. A difference in relative delay times between the spread spectrum signals of the P code in L.sub.1 band and spread spectrum signals of the P code in L.sub.2 band, which are also transmitted from GPS satellites, is obtained in a modified DLL (Delay Locked Loop).

  • Patent number: 4898452
Abstract: A target plate is mounted on a reflector body support unit by being slid into and engaged with guide grooves formed in the upstanding arms of the U-shape frame. Locking screws, each with a knob end manipulatable by hand and a forward enlarged end, are screwed into projection on pivotal shafts mounting the reflector and press against the target plate holding it in position.

  • Patent number: 4854704
Abstract: A light source, such as a laser diode, is positioned on a mount bed facing upwardly. A lens device is supported a support member extending upwardly from the mount bed. The lens device consists of a concave lens and convex lens and is provided to convert the rays of light emitted by the light source to parallel rays of light perpendicular to a true horizontal plane. The concave lens is suspended above the light source by plural wires from the support member. The convex lens is supported above the concave lens by at least one arm attached to the support member. A motorized rotatable reflector device is mounted on the support member above the lens device and reflects the parallel rays of light therefrom in a horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 4731580
Abstract: A displacement sensing device includes a sensor of magnetoresistance elements located opposite to a magnetic scale, and is adapted to measure a relative amount of movement between the magnetic scale and the sensor through the use of a variation in a resistive value of the magnetoresistance elements due to the effect of a magnetic pattern on the magnetic scale. The sensor includes magnetoresistance element sections comprised of a first pair of magnetoresistance elements and a second pair of magnetoresistance elements of a pitch different from that of the first pair of magnetoresistance elements. The magnetoresistance element sections are selectively used in accordance with the pitch of the magnetic pattern on the magnetic scale.

  • Patent number: 4663853
Abstract: A measuring system using a magnetic scale is disclosed, which can be readily adjusted when mounting it on a machine tool or the like. A magnetic scale support supporting a magnetic scale bar is secured to a machine tool body. A magnetic head support supporting a magnetic head is secured to a movable member of the machine tool body. An adjusting member secured to the magnetic scale support has a projection, while a cap secured to the magnetic scale support has a recess extending parallel to the magnetic scale bar. The mounting position of the magnetic scale bar in the direction of movement of the movable member is adjusted by moving the movable member, with the projection inserted in the recess.

  • Patent number: 4621436
Abstract: A position detecting apparatus for generating a position detection signal when the sensor comes into contact with a workpiece is equipped with a swivel mechanism which allows the sensor to move in any direction within a constant range at the time of contact. This swivel mechanism comprises a metal cylinder for supporting the sensor, a mechanism for moving in the vertical direction guided by a center shaft supported by a swivel bearing, and a mechanism for moving the metal cylinder and center shaft in the horizontal direction. When the sensor contacts the workpiece, a display, for example, is lit up by a position detection circuit.
