Patents Assigned to Solvay Engineered Polymers
  • Patent number: 6051637
Abstract: A light stabilizer package is disclosed. The light stabilizer package comprises a monomeric HALS having a pKa of no greater than 7, an ultraviolet light absorber and, optionally, a polymeric HALS having a pKa of less than 7. The light stabilizer package may be blended with a thermoplastic olefin to form a moldable light stable composition. An article comprising the moldable light stable composition may have an exterior surface that is at least partially coated.

  • Patent number: 5998524
Abstract: Thermoplastic olefinic, polymer blends which have superior physical properties and adherence for coating materials such as paints are disclosed. The blends may be formed from various combinations of thermoplastic components such as a crystalline isotactic propylene polymer, and sequentially polymerized blends of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene copolymers, with elastomeric components such as copolymers of ethylene and butene, and copolymers of ethylene and octene which are produced with metallocene or Kaminsky catalysts. If desired, other components, such as fillers, can be included.

  • Patent number: 5783629
Abstract: Thermoplastic polyolefin compositions of a substantially crystalline polyolefin that is a homopolymer of ethylene, propylene or butylene or a copolymer of propylene and a C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 alpha-olefin; about 10% to 50% by weight of a first substantially amorphous polyolefin of a terpolymer of ethylene with a C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 alpha-olefin and a diene monomer and having a Mooney Viscosity (ML.sub.1+4, 100.degree. C.) of between about 10 and about 120; optionally, a copolymer of ethylene and a C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 alpha-olefin may be present; and about 1 to 20% by weight of a second substantially amorphous polyolefin having a number average molecular weight of between about 1,000 and 15,000 and including (a) a copolymer of ethylene with a C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 alpha-olefin; (b) a terpolymer of ethylene with a C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 alpha-olefin and a diene monomer; (c) a block copolymer that includes blocks of a C.sub.3 -C.sub.
