  • Patent number: 6601902
Abstract: A motor vehicle cockpit is prefabricated and contains a flat shaped piece serving as a mounting plate for a visible shell, a heating or air-conditioning system and operational elements. An impact protection is formed by a box-section of the motor vehicle body that extends under the front edge of the windscreen and a cross-member. The impact protection is completed by the flat shaped piece that couples to the box-section and the cross-member, preferably coupled with a linear introduction of force. In the event of a vehicle frontal impact, the flat shaped piece and coupled box-section and cross-member absorb the energy of impact.

  • Patent number: 6571515
Abstract: A double walled vehicle door having an inside door panel and an outside door panel forming a space therebetween. The inside door panel having at least one cutout therein. A module carrier is attached to the inside door panel such that the module carrier covers and peripherally seals the at least one cutout. A dual cable window lift having guide bars each having a lower end with an associated pulley mounted thereon and an upper end with an associated pulley mounted thereon. The dual cable window lift being mounted on the module carrier such that the lower ends of the guide bars extend beyond a periphery of the module carrier and the upper ends of the guide bars are positioned within the periphery of the module carrier. The upper ends of the guide bars are mounted on a side of the inside door panel adapted to face an interior of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6467220
Abstract: A device for fastening a lock module including at least one lock part, an actuating part, and a covering on a module support which is provided for a two-shelled vehicle door and supports the function modules of the vehicle door. A supporting arm which is elastic in a longitudinal direction, polydirectionally pliable, and thus capable of being readjusted, is fastened to the module support. The supporting arm fixes the lock module in the installation position in an unsupported and resilient manner via a supporting plate. The supporting arm is constructed with a tubular shape in order to accommodate a Bowden pull wire for the actuating part of the lock module and/or electric cable.

  • Patent number: 6318752
Abstract: The invention relates to an instrument panel for motor vehicles, made of a thermoplastic material and providing an invisible cover for an airbag system which, as seen from the inside of the motor vehicle, is positioned behind the instrument panel (rear side). The instrument panel is characterized in that it has a weakened section on the rear side which defines an opening area in the instrument panel for the airbag and fully surrounds said opening area, and in that it has an ejection channel for the airbag fixed to it. The opening area in the instrument panel designed for the airbag is connected with the ejection channel by means ofa polymer hinge. Both the ejection channel and the polymer hinge are fixed at least to the opening area of the instrument panel designed for the air bag by means of a welded material. The instrument panel, ejection channel and polymer hinge are made ofa thermoplastic material having the same polymer basis but flexibilized in different ways.

  • Patent number: 6106003
Abstract: The invention relates to an interior trim panel for motor vehicles fitted with an airbag. Said panel consists of a dimensionally stable supporting member (3) with a film cover (1) on its visible face, and is provided with a tear-open airbag penetration area for expansion of airbag at the point where the airbag is installed (9'). The airbag penetration area is defined by notches (5) in the supporting member (3). The support member has a guide channel (3'), which is integrally formed at the rear, for the expanding airbag. The opening (12) of this channel is covered by the supporting member and the film cover on the visible face which is devoid of any markings. The notches of the guide-channel opening define a pocket-like opening penetration area during airbag expansion. Said notches form a pattern of lines consisting of a center line and side lines which branch off parallel to or diagonally from the center line.
