  • Patent number: 6918164
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for making meshed textile products from fibres and/or filaments moving past in the form of a web. The method involves subjecting the fibres and/or filaments to transverse looping with joint drawing by means of an assembly including a set of interpenetrating identical looping discs spaced apart and located on a common transverse axis with a set of identical looping elements, the looping discs having on their periphery relatively spaced apart teeth; accumulating the fibres and/or filaments in the form of at least a crinkled pseudo-yarn of a certain length wherein the fibres and/or filaments are paralleled, the accumulation of the fibres and/or filaments being carried out against the slope of a tooth opposite the input of the web; transferring into the eye of the set of needles over the entire length of the pseudo-yarn; and carrying out in standard manner another fabric course using the pseudo-yarn transferred into the eye of the needles.

  • Patent number: 6817396
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing a textile product of the lapped/bonded type from fibers and/or filaments travelling in the direction of advance in the form of a web, this method comprising at least one step, called the “prelooping step”, in which the fibers and/or filaments individually undergo looping transversely to the direction of advance of the web, if appropriate accompanied by transverse drawing, characterized in that it subsequently comprises a step of confining the parallelized fibers and/or filaments in the form of loops, this latter confining step taking place directly on a support, without transport members, such as needles or transfer elements, being involved.

  • Patent number: 6519820
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for obtaining adequate orientation of elements constituting a web, such as fibres and/or filaments, for example derived from a card, characterized in that it consists in: subjecting the fibre to a pre-looping step produced by the interpenetration of a first set of looping discs (11) borne on a common transverse shaft (10) and continuously driven in rotation at a first speed (V1), and of a first set of fixed looping elements (12), the set of looping discs (11) and the set of looping elements (12) having a predetermined gauge (j) so as to cause the fibres and/or filaments to be pre-looped with an undulating value or interval (j), retaining with blocking means said fibres and/or filaments at regular intervals by a length (n×j) where n is an integer ranging between 2 and 20; allowing the pre-looped fibres and/or filaments to expand so as to produce large undulations having an undulating value or interval (n×j); and spreading by simple drawing the pre-looped fibres and/o

  • Patent number: 6107412
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for preparing powdery ionomers by neutralizing a powdery precursor using a neutralizing agent. A particular feature of the invention is that the precursor is used in a powder form and a concentrated aqueous solution of neutralizing agent is rapidly mixed with the precursor, and that the neutralized ionomer essentially retains the dry powder form and size of a precursor while having a water content of about 10%. The resulting product can be used as a wear layer for producing ground and wall coverings, either by powder deposition process or by extension to form a film, which is applied in a hot state to a support.

  • Patent number: 5867880
Abstract: A method for producing textiles from fibers and/or filaments circulating in the form of a web by performing transverse texturing of the fibers and/or filaments as well as stretching thereof, and collecting the fibers and/or filaments in the form of at least one crinkled pseudo-yarn (100) of a given length in which the fibers and/or filaments are properly parallelized. The method is characterized in that said fibers and/or filaments are collected in or against transfer members (9) separate from the needles and the full length of said pseudo-yarn (100) is transferred to needles (11 or 21) for receiving the pseudo-yarn (100).

  • Patent number: 5239734
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a textile product by starting with fibers and/or filaments in which these fibers and/or filaments travel in the form of a web. The technique consists in subjecting the fibers and/or filaments to a transverse looping accompanied by drawing and that the latter are accumulated in the form of loops in which the fibers and/or filaments are parallelised.

  • Patent number: 4675216
Abstract: A process and apparatus for manufacturing synthetic decorative coverings is presented in which at least one powder (generally a polymeric resin) is selectively deposited, in accordance with a pattern or decoration, onto a base material. The power deposition is carried out under gravity without contact between the means of applying the powder and the base. At least one of the deposited powders contains particles which are fusible at a temperature below the distortion temperature of the base and which is compatible with the base material. At least one thermal treatment is then carried out at a temperature below the distortion temperature of the base so as to fix the decorative pattern produced by deposited powders. The apparatus for applying the powders consists of a continuous screen printing frame, in particular, a screen printing roller which is fed by a device providing uniform distribution of the powder into a hopper located inside the roller.
