Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for the automatic selection of a source drive and a destination drive when an operation to record content is performed. The method includes an evaluation of all removable media devices detected in the computing system, and the classification of the detected devices. All removable media detected in the computing system is also evaluated, and evaluation of a last used source drive and a last used destination drive is performed. When recording content to removable media, an algorithm is triggered to evaluate detected devices, evaluate detected media, and intelligently select an appropriate source drive and destination drive for the recording operation. The intelligent selection is performed automatically.
