Abstract: Some embodiments providing antenna systems comprising: a frame; a power transfer antenna cooperated with the frame, wherein the power transfer antenna is configured to enable at least one of wirelessly and inductively receiving electrical power from another consumer electronic device and wirelessly and inductively transmitting electrical power to another consumer electronic device; one or more low power communications antennas cooperated with the frame and configured to wirelessly transmit and receive communications with one or more other remote consumer electronic devices; wherein the frame is configured to readily be positioned within and mounted with multiple different consumer electronic devices and provide the consumer electronic device within which it is mounted with wireless power transfer capabilities and communication capabilities with a separate consumer electronic device with which wireless power transfer is to occur.

Abstract: A user can share Internet assets or content URLs via a second display device with other Internet content service users. Thus, the other users will be able to view the same content on their own internet protocol televisions (IPTV), as first display devices, without the need to search for the content in the content providing service. When the shared content is URLs, the recipient can even preview the content from the URL on the second display device before sending it to the recipient's internet protocol television (IPTV).

Abstract: Various aspects of a method and a system to process a geographical internet protocol (IP) lookup request of an IP address are disclosed herein. The method is implemented in a first server. The first server receives a first request for the lookup of the IP address from a first computing device. In response to the received first request, data is retrieved from a cache memory. The retrieved data from the cache memory is communicated to the first computing device. The cache memory stores the data received in response to a prior received request for the lookup of the IP address.

Abstract: Software is provided to handle the playback of media in browsers that in addition may use second display protocols to instruct a separate display device to play the media. The software can transmit the content or specify a network location of the same for subsequent playback on a content playback device. The software may be in the form of a web browser or other application that is configured for the playback of selected media types. The browser maintains a list of favorite and/or recently viewed services and content items and is configured to filter the list to eliminate those content items or services which are no longer available. In this way, favorite content items and services and/or recently viewed content items and services, as available to the user, are made accessible using the second display.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods to enable a multiple users browsing content offerings on multiple devices to have their selections played by a content playback device using its own authentication credentials. The users can then continue to browse the content offerings on their multiple second displays without interrupting the content that is playing on the main content playback device. The method is an architecture design and implementation that allows users to navigate, browse, and search content offerings on a second display such as a smart phone, PC, laptop, tablet, internet appliance, or any other device with a capability to couple to a network. Concurrently, while a user is using the content playback device, another user can perform browsing activities on a second display and send a media selection to a primary content playback device of the user's choice for queueing and/or playback.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods to implement a technique for using a second display with a network-enabled television. In one implementation, this feature allows the native application on the second display to directly launch the second display application with a requested search term so that the user is immediately brought to a search page with relevant search results. The search term may be derived from the native application which in turn derives from the context of the IP TV. Such a context could be metadata from a currently playing BD from a BD player or TV channel. The second display application may be a web application or a native remote controller application. The second display could be a smart phone that can often be found beside the user, or a laptop or tablet PC, a desktop PC, or the like.

Abstract: Systems and methods provided allow users to receive rewards in a videogame based on their “real world” purchases, where such purchases are those they may have made anyway, but which now provide the incentive of receiving rewards in particularly new ways. By providing a connection between a server operating the loyalty reward system and a game server or game administration server, the system can be made seamless and can closely tie the purchase to the reward. Players may receive in-game benefits based on their real world activities with loyalty programs, including rewards for purchases on credit cards, debit cards, or at particular storefronts.

Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for using an existing management server infrastructure to deliver video-on-demand or streaming content, including real-time live streaming. Existing client content playback devices, such as IPTVs, may be employed to stream content items, obtain advertisements, track user's viewing behaviors, and the like. By reusing existing client devices, there is no need for additional hardware purchases on the user side. By reusing existing management server infrastructures, capital expenses are also reduced. In such a system, a user can watch both video-on-demand and streaming audiovisual content.

Abstract: Systems and methods described allow users to select and obtain significant information about objects in the real world, and further to employ gestures as a “real world” interface to manipulate information and to manipulate the selection of objects. In this way, users may be enabled to make better decisions when, e.g., traveling and shopping, and may further be enabled to obtain significant information about objects with which they are surrounded. The systems and methods may include a camera which monitors a user's hand movements or gestures to control a UI, particularly where a user is interacting with real-world objects. Gestures can move the focus of a UI from one real world object to another. The systems and methods may also include a projector to illuminate selected objects, or to display information about objects.

Abstract: Systems and methods for synchronizing the playback of network media across multiple content playback devices, termed herein as “playback devices”, “clients”, or “client devices”. In one implementation, client devices are controlled to parse and buffer media content separately. Once all clients are ready, a controller may cause the client devices to start in a synchronized fashion based on signals sent by the controller. The controller adjusts the timing of the signal so that the outputs are displayed in synchronization on each client device. In other implementations, device lag times may be measured. In still other implementations, a master device may synchronize playback of media content on slave devices. In yet other implementations, devices may buffer and join playback of media content occurring on other devices. In further implementations, the systems and methods may be expanded to include steps of processing authentication for service providers prior to arranging synchronized playback.
