    Abstract: A method and system of communicating on an active power distribution line using numerous asynchronous data transmitters. Data is modulated onto 5 KHz carrier signals of narrow bandwidth whose frequency is numerically derived from the power line frequency. The carriers are frequency division multiplexed and data is recovered by demodulating the data from the carriers.
