Abstract: A plant for the separation at high temperatures of contaminants from plastic material in small pieces or in leaves, including at least one stage (2) for the separation of contaminants, which in turn includes a centrifugal separator device designed to separate an input flow of plastic material in small pieces or in leaves, with contaminants and a conveying fluid comprising water and steam, into a main flow of the material and the conveying fluid and into a secondary flow of the contaminants and the conveying fluid. The separation stage includes, moreover, a cyclone designed to receive in input the secondary flow and to divide it into a discharge flow of the contaminants and water and into a flow of steam which is conveyed towards the inlet of the separation device of the same stage and/or of the previous stages.

Abstract: A conical-bottom silo, particularly suitable for small-sized pieces of plastic material with properties of high elasticity, includes a conical screw stirrer inserted axially in the conical bottom of the silo. The conical screw of the stirrer is discontinuous and divided into several sections. The silo has a structure for discharging the material arranged below an outlet port positioned laterally in relation to the stirrer and including two co-operating cylindrical screws. The stirrer can be provided with apertured grill outlets for heated, forced air.

Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for separating materials of small size. The apparatus according to the invention comprises a separation tub which can be filled with a liquid up to a preselected level, means for introducing a conveying liquid with the materials to be separated into the tub below said preselected level under a pressure which is higher than that existing the area of introduction due to the effect of the weight of the liquid in the tub, and first and second material-ejection means arranged at said preselected level and, respectively, at the tub bottom to eject lighter and, respectively, heavier material.

Abstract: A rotor receives the wet material to be dried and centrifugates it outwards with conveyance air created by the same rotor. Around the rotor there develops a first scroll, which receives and conveys towards an outlet the material centrifugated by the rotor and said conveyance air. The lateral wall of said first scroll is provided with a bored grating, against which there hits the centrifugated material, which thus looses a part of the liquid that accompanies it; another part is removed by the same conveyance air, which filters partially through the grating into a second scroll that conveys it to discharge with the liquid separated and passed through the grating.

Abstract: This invention relates to a silo having a tapered bottom end, which silo is particularly adapted for small-sized plastics materials having a high degree of stickiness, humidity and electrostaticity. The silo according to the invention comprises a conical-screw stirring member axially inserted in the conical bottom of the silo, said stirring member being so constructed and rotated about its own axis as to originate an upward motion of the material. An outlet part is arranged laterally at the lower end of the silo bottom in order to eject and deliver the material.
