The rod portion further includes an opening that extends through an intermediate portion thereof. The pivot assembly can further include a pin configured to be removably inserted at least partially into the opening in the rod portion to thereby restrict lateral movement of the rod portion within the first and second members.

The front portion includes side portions having a first thickness above a highest part of the side sections, and the side portions are separated by a central portion having a second thickness less than the first thickness. Preferably, a lower surface of the central portion is substantially unsupported to form a trampoline-like structure. The upper surface of the central portion can include memory foam and is substantially flush with upper surfaces of the side portions.

One or both of the right and left covers can be fiber reinforced. First and second pieces of tape can be overlapped and used to secure the covers to the rim.

The fork assembly can also include a nose piece in front of the headset bearing, wherein the hose passes between headset bearing and the nose piece. The fork assembly can also include a handlebar and a riser supporting the handlebar, wherein the hose passes through the riser.
