Abstract: A reversible resilient wall padding apparatus includes a reversible resilient wall pad and at least one pad connector. The pad includes front, rear, and peripherally-extending sides, and at least one side connector disposed along the peripheral-extending side. The pad connector includes a first portion releasably attachable to the side connector, and a second portion attachable to a vertical surface of a wall. The pad is attachable in a first orientation with the front side facing outwardly and the first portion of the pad connector being attached to the side connector, and the second portion of the pad connector being disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the pad and the vertical surface of the wall, and a second orientation with the rear side of the pad facing outwardly and the first portion of the pad connector being attached to the side connector, and the second portion of the pad connector being disposed adjacent to the front surface of the pad and the vertical surface of the wall.

Abstract: A ball safety netting system includes a net comprising a plurality of openings, a plurality of elongated poles having a lower end operably attachable to the ground in spaced-apart relationship, and a plurality of safety devices operably attachable to the plurality of poles and operably attachable to the net. The plurality of poles and the plurality of safety devices are operably sized and configured for use in supporting the net in a generally fixed upright relationship relative to the ground, and when a force exerted on the safety device exceeds a breaking point of the safety device, a portion of the net is detaches from the pole to reduce the likelihood of pole failure.

Each half section has an upper surface and a base surface and two full length members and two half length members. The full length members and the half length members are connected together substantially at right angles to form a rectangle with four corners. A corner brace is located in each of the four corners. An inside cross member and an outside cross member extend between the half length members and are generally parallel to the full length members. A pair of semi-circles, each having substantially the same diameter that is larger than the length of the half length members and less than the length of the full length members. Means are provided for securing the half sections together so that the semi-circles form a full circle. Tubes extend from the circle toward the base to drain water from with in the circle.

The plurality of downwardly-depending projections is engageable with the synthetic turf infill material for playing baseball.

Abstract: A method for installing a thrower's circle in the ground of an athletic field includes assembling a form for constructing a thrower's circle dimensioned for a player throwing at least one of a hammer, a shot put, and a discus from a plurality of sections having mounted thereto a plurality of arcuate portions. When the plurality of sections are assembled together, the plurality of arcuate sections together form a full circle, and wherein a portion of the plurality of sections is disposed outside the full circle and a portion of the plurality of sections is disposed inside the full circle. The method further includes excavating the ground, placing the assembled form in the excavated ground, placing cement in the assembled form, and allowing the cement to dry.

Abstract: A temperature compensating outdoor wall padding apparatus in one embodiment incorporates a stretch fabric into the edges of a vinyl cover to provide a tension on the vinyl cover minimizing the possibility of wrinkling of the vinyl cover due to a change in temperature. In another embodiment, the temperature compensating outdoor wall padding apparatus may employ a resilient cover, stretchable in 4 directions and pre-tensioned to provide tension on the resilient cover minimizing the possibility of wrinkling of the resilient cover due to a change in temperature. Methods for forming the same are also disclosed.

Abstract: A take-off board system for a triple or long jump generally includes an elongated frame, an elongated take-off board, and a track material member. The frame includes inwardly-extending flanges defining a chamber therein. The take-off board includes a first portion slidably receivable in the chamber of the frame, and a second portion defining an outer take-off surface. The track material member is disposed on an outer surface of the frame. The take-off board system is disposable in a first position in a cavity in the ground with the outer take-off surface of the take-off board disposed even with a track surface, and the take-off board assembly is disposable in a second position in the cavity in the ground with an outer surface of the track material member disposed even with the track surface.

The caps include an inclined surface which slops upwardly and away from the sand area forming the inclined surface. A cover over the sand area is supported by the inclined surface. Optionally, a chamber is located adjacent the outside wall. A grate covers the chamber and the grate is supported by a brace. A mat covers the grate. Openings in the grate and in the mat permit sand through them, thrown from the sand area to drop into the chamber.

Abstract: A Soccer Goal Retainer including an enclosure buried in the ground. A bar is mounted in the enclosure and rotates about its longitudinal axis. The bar is located toward the front wall and base of the enclosure. A clamp plate is mounted on the bar by hand bolts which engage threaded openings on the bar. The clamp plate includes a lower member which is secured to the bar. A vertical member extends at right angles from the lower member and an upper member extends from the vertical member generally at right angles remote from the lower member and away from the lower member. A lip extends generally at right angles from the upper member remote from the vertical member toward the lower member. With the vertical member generally positioned vertically, the lip, the upper member and vertical member are placed over the rear rail of a soccer goal and the clamp plate is secured to the bar. The clamp plate is released from the rear rail by loosening the clamp plate from the bar.

Abstract: Rotatable and hinged goal posts are operably rotatable so that the goal post may rotated to a first position with the uprights being disposed toward a playing field such as for use when playing football, and to second position where the uprights being disposed away from the playing field such as for use when playing soccer. In addition, the rotatable and hinged goal posts are operably pivotable from a raised orientation and a lowered orientation, and vice versa.

Abstract: A communications box for use beneath the surface of a track or artificial turf in an athletic field. The communications box has includes a base two major sides, and two minor sides. A partition is located between the major sides and generally parallel to the minor sides. The partition is secured to partition brackets. A cover bracket is located below the top edge of the major sides. Stud nuts are affixed to the outside of the major sides and minor sides. Stud bolts which engage the stud nuts retain the cover bracket and the partition bracket in place. Bolt holes for the stud bolts in the cover bracket are in pairs to permit the partition and the cover bracket to be raised and lowered for use with a turf cover under artificial turf and with a track cover under a track.

The opening in the crossbar is dimensioned to permit back to front movement of the stub and corresponding rotation of the sleeve until verticality of the stub and its associated upright is achieved. At that point, the sleeve is locked against further rotation by means of a tapping block previously installed in the sleeve and engaged with a serrated bolt through an appropriately dimensioned opening in the crossbar and corresponding holes in the sleeve. Once the bolts are tightened into the tapping block, the sleeve is drawn tightly against the interior surface of the crossbar, thereby locking the sleeve and the stub and the upright against further rotation.

Abstract: A communications box for use beneath the surface of artificial turf includes a container having a peripherally-extending upper edge. A first resilient flexible seal extends vertically from and along the peripherally-extending top edge of the container. A cover includes a peripherally-extending edge, and at least one hand hole extending through the cover. A second resilient flexible seal extends vertically from and along the peripherally-extending edge of the cover. The cover and the second flexible seal are sized to be received within the first flexible seal extending from the peripherally-extending top edge of the container, and the first and the second resilient flexible seals prevent material from falling into the communications box when the cover is removed from the container. Seals may be provided around the hand hole and a lid receivable in the hand hole.
