  • Patent number: 10522921
Abstract: A battery-powered wireless communication device has internal antennas. In the wireless communication device, transceiver circuitry wirelessly receives external antenna data that indicates on/off status, reserve battery power, and geometric earth-orientation for the individual antennas in a different wireless communication device. Baseband circuitry determines internal antenna data that indicates the on/off status, reserve battery power, and geometric earth-orientation for the internal antennas. The baseband circuitry executes a user application that generates and consumes user data. The baseband circuitry selects a set of the internal antennas to serve the user application based on the internal antenna data and the external antenna data. The transceiver circuitry wirelessly exchanges the user data over the selected set of the internal antennas.

  • Patent number: 9667665
Abstract: A server system exchanges trust signaling with a first access network, establishes hardware trust with the first access network, and determines that the first access network has established hardware trust with a communication interface to a second access network. The server system exchanges Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signaling with a SIP system, establishes hardware trust with the SIP system, and determines that the SIP system has established hardware trust with the second access network and a second communication device. The server system exchanges SIP signaling with a first communication device and establishes hardware trust with the first communication device.

  • Patent number: 9547653
Abstract: A configuration message is received from a first computer system. In response to the configuration message, a first wireless device is enumerated on the first computer system as locally attached mass storage. A registration message is sent to a wireless network. File information about a shared file is received from a second wireless device. The second wireless device is enumerated on a second computer system as locally attached mass storage. A shared block of data is received from the second wireless device. The shared block of data is sent to the first computer system as data that is stored on a locally attached mass storage device.

  • Patent number: 9529359
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is disclosed. The UAV comprises a battery, a flight mechanism, a radio frequency (RF) transceiver, a processor, a memory, and an application stored in the memory. When executed by the processor, the application discovers an environment where the UAV operates by flying in the environment to determine its boundaries; creates a map of the environment that the UAV flew through; and shares the map with a social robot. The application receives a command from the social robot via the RF transceiver, wherein the social robot receives a verbal request from a user of the social robot, wherein the social robot transforms the user request to a command for the UAV. The application then performs the command from the social robot. The application then lands on a designated charging pad to conserve energy. The application then transmits a report back to the social robot.

  • Patent number: 9479569
Abstract: A portable electronic device is provided comprising a processor, a memory, a display, and an application stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, initiates a plurality of user agents that each indicate a different communication point. The portable electronic device also transmits a request for a content from each of the user agents to a content source, the requests being transmitted substantially concurrently. The portable electronic device also receives a plurality of contents, each content associated with one of the user agents and each content formatted differently than the remaining contents. The portable electronic also presents one of the contents on the display, wherein the portable electronic device promotes concurrent downloading of a content in multiple formats from the content source.

  • Patent number: 9413664
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for resuming a media object presented on a device following a data loss event that interrupts the presentation of the media object, wherein streaming services are used to deliver the media object are provided. A physical disconnection that occurs at a point during the presentation of the media object is recognized. The physical disconnection is recognized based on an identification that media data has not been received by the device within a predetermined time period. Upon recognition of the physical disconnection, the presentation of the media object is automatically paused. After detecting reestablishment of a physical connection, the media object is resumed as though no interruption occurred. A resume request is communicated to a streaming control agent to provide an indication that the streaming control agent should continue delivering media data to the device.

  • Patent number: 5448633
Abstract: The present invention is a telecommunications system for allowing a business to control customer service. The system is comprised of a switching network and an enhanced services platform. Calls from the customer to the business are routed to the enhanced services platform by the switching network. Using codes acquired from the customer and the switching network, the enhanced services platform identifies a program specified by the business and also retrieves customer information. The information contains an account of telecommunications available, and the customer is connected to the business as long as a pre-determined amount is in the account. Action is taken when a second pre-determined amount remains. The customer is allowed to refresh the account and the enhanced services platform is capable of collecting information from the customer as a pre-requisite to customer service.
