  • Patent number: 5088222
Abstract: A semi-automatic pisor of living a slide mounted to a frame is disclosed. The pistol has a hammer assembly and a trigger bar assembly. A trigger bar moves the sear during firing, causing the sear to disengage the hammer. A safety is provided having a cam projection which, upon movement of the safety, provides a caming action to urge the trigger bar downwardly, out of engagement with the sear. A second projection moves to obstruct movement of the sear to prevent firing. Disengagement of the trigger bar from the sear in the safe position eliminates mechanical stress on a forward projecting arm of the sear.

  • Patent number: 4999939
Abstract: A breech load pistol and conversion kit which may be adapted to the frame of a semi-automatic pistol, such as a Government 0.45 pistol. The present invention may provide a modified reinforced slide which is slidably mounted to the pistol frame and is adapted to include a pivotable barrel assembly mounted thereto. The barrel preferably is suitable for target pistol accuracy. The barrel assembly may be pivoted exposing the breech end for single shot loading for target shooting applications. The conventional semi-automatic pistol magazine or clip may be replaced with a modified clip acting as a breech release actuator having a lever mechanism which is operable to release a latch holding the barrel assembly in engagement with the slide. The present invention also provides a pistol with a gas relief port. The present invention further provides a rim ejector for ejecting spent cartridges using a camming action occurring during pivoting of the barrel assembly to a loading position.

  • Patent number: 4936035
Abstract: A breech load pistol conversion kit which may be adapted to the frame of a semi-automatic pistol. A modified slide is slidably mounted to the pistol frame and is adapted to include a pivotal barrel. A lever actuated breech release mechanism is also provided for unlocking and allowing the barrel to pivot. The present invention relates to a safety interface member slidably disposed with respect to the slide and the pistol frame. The member engages and disengages a disconnector in the frame to provide a safety against hammer release when the pistol the breech release mechanism is activated and the pistol is not in a firing position.

  • Patent number: 4872792
Abstract: A pistol grip checkering method, device and product having mill cuts both laterally and longitudinally on the convex face of a pistol grip frame. The cuts are precisely cut by milling machine. A rotatable holder is provided which is pivotable about an axis and which holds the pistol frame to be checkered, such as with a protruding male member inserted into the ammunition magazine receiving chamber within the grip. A supporting surface is provided which is oriented at an angle greater than 90.degree. with respect to the axis and which supports the pistol grip frame. Indexing means are provided to incrementally index the rotatable holder about the axis to provide for successive longitudinal cuts on the convex face of the pistol grip frame.
