  • Patent number: 11394879
Abstract: Modules and control units cooperate to simultaneously and independently control and adjust pixel parameters non-uniformly at regional increments across an entire image captured in an image frame by pixels in a pixel array. Pixel parameter changes for pixels in a given region occur, based on i) a contextual understanding of what contextually was happening in the one or more prior image frames and ii) whether salient items are located within that region. Additionally, guidance is sent to the sensor control unit to i) increase or decrease pixel parameters within those regions with salient items and then either to i) maintain, ii) increase or iii) decrease pixel parameters within regions without salient items in order to stay within any i) bandwidth limitations ii) memory storage, and/or iii) power consumptions limitations imposed by 1) one or more image sensors or 2) the communication loop between the sensor control unit and the image processing unit.

  • Patent number: 11362232
Abstract: A photodiode, such as a linear mode avalanche photodiode can be made free of excess noise via having a superlattice multiplication region that allows only one electrical current carrier type, such as an electron or a hole, to accumulate enough kinetic energy to impact ionize when biased, where the layers are lattice matched. A photodiode can be constructed with i) a lattice matched pair of a first semiconductor alloy and a second semiconductor alloy in a superlattice multiplication region, ii) an absorber region, and iii) a semiconductor substrate. A detector with multiple photodiodes can be made with these construction layers in order to have a cutoff wavelength varied anywhere from 1.7 to 4.9 ?m as well as a noise resulting from a dark current at a level such that an electromagnetic radiation signal with the desired minimum wavelength cutoff can be accurately sensed by the photodiode.

  • Publication number: 20220125280
Abstract: An example apparatus includes a light source, first and second polarizers, an image sensor, a filter, and control circuitry. The light source outputs a light beam, and the first polarizer passes first polarized light from the output light beam and toward a sample. The image sensor collects light reflected from the sample responsive to the passed first polarized light. The second polarizer passes second polarized light from the reflected light and toward the image sensor. The filter selectively passes the reflected light in a visible light range and near infrared range (NIR) light range toward the image sensor. The control circuitry causes the first and second polarizers to adjust to different polarization angles, and collects the image data of the sample from the reflected light.

  • Patent number: 11313684
Abstract: During GPS-denied/restricted navigation, images proximate a platform device are captured using a camera, and corresponding motion measurements of the platform device are captured using an IMU device. Features of a current frame of the images captured are extracted. Extracted features are matched and feature information between consecutive frames is tracked. The extracted features are compared to previously stored, geo-referenced visual features from a plurality of platform devices. If one of the extracted features does not match a geo-referenced visual feature, a pose is determined for the platform device using IMU measurements propagated from a previous pose and relative motion information between consecutive frames, which is determined using the tracked feature information.

  • Patent number: 11301703
Abstract: A biometric access control system for controlling access to an environment based on an authorization status of a living subject is disclosed. In one example, a data source generates image data of a tissue region of the subject. A liveness measurement unit processes the image data to detect changes over at least one of time or spatial volume in one or more structural features of the tissue region and generates, based on the detected changes, a spoofing attack detection status indicating that the image data is from living biological tissue or that a spoofing attack is detected. A biometric identification unit processes at least a portion of the same image data generated by the data source to generate biometric information indicative of an identity of the subject. Responsive to the spoofing attack detection status and the biometric information, an authorization unit outputs an authorization status for the subject.

  • Patent number: 11275109
Abstract: Manufacturing integrated circuits is discussed with steps as follows. Creating a wafer with a plurality of dies, where each die contains its own integrated circuit. Fabricating multiple instances of TAP circuitry located in a margin between dies of the wafer. • Patent number: 11271308
Abstract: Systems are provided for the efficient generation of oscillating magnetic fields below the Low Frequency band. These systems generate such fields by mechanically rotating one or more diametrically-magnetized permanent magnets. In order to reduce friction, the magnets are rotated by applying a motive magnetic field to the magnet(s) to rotate the magnet(s) and thereby generate the oscillating magnetic field. Additionally, diamagnetic repulsion, active magnetic field control, and/or biasing permanent magnets are employed to levitate the rotating magnet(s), further reducing friction and increasing system efficiency. These systems may be employed to generate modulated low-frequency oscillating magnetic fields for communication through seawater, rocks, or other obstacles. Additionally or alternatively, these systems may be employed to generate low-frequency oscillating magnetic fields for navigation and location sensing, resource identification and extraction, or other applications.

  • Patent number: 11263339
Abstract: In general, techniques for data access control are described, in which a policy engine implements and applies a declarative policy framework that can represent and reason about complex privacy policies. By using a common data model together with a formal shareability theory, this declarative policy framework enables the specification of expressive policies in a concise way without burdening the user with technical details of the underlying formalism of a data querying application or other knowledge representation scheme. The policy engine may be deployed as the policy decision point in a data access control system that also includes a policy enforcement point. The policy engine includes user interfaces for the creation, validation, and management of privacy policies. The policy engine may interface with systems that manage data requests and replies by coordinating policy engine decisions and access to databases.
