  • Publication number: 20090217543
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for selecting products, in particular tyre patches, depending on the size of damage previously done to the tyre. For this purpose, two legs (1, 2) are connected in a rotatable manner to a hinge joint (3). The legs (1, 2) have tapering areas (4) in the area of the measuring ends. A power element (5) is positioned in such a way that the legs (1, 2) are returned to the starting position upon completion of the selection process. In the area of the measuring ends of the legs (1, 2), projections (6) are formed which are oriented in a direction of movement which corresponds to a movement separating the tapering areas (4) of the legs (1, 2). On at least one of the legs (1, 2), a display area (7) is provided in which during the selection process at least one product is selected or displayed depending on the position of the other leg (1) in the display area (7).

  • Patent number: 7083692
Abstract: Methods and devices for vulcanizing or cross-linking under pressure and increased temperature shaped bodies that consist especially of rubber mixtures. The shaped body is first dipped into a bed of fine-grained pourable or free-flowing bulk material with the sections to be vulcanized and the bulk material is brought into evenly tight contact with the surfaces of the shaped body while the bulk material is pressurized and brought to the elevated temperature at least in the region adjoining the section of the shaped body to be vulcanized.

  • Patent number: 5277742
Abstract: An apparatus to apply circular strips to pneumatic tires while still mounted on their wheels' rims comprising a turntable with a centered, spring supported member having a conical surface, which is slidable vertically on a shaft that rotates the turntable. The tire is horizontally disposed and frictionally engages the table while held by the centering member. The tire's sidewall is cleaned and then roughened by a chemical roughner. An application wheel supported from the turntable's framework via an adjustable bracket which includes a telescopic horizontal member is adjusted to bear directly against the sidewall at the desired location and inclination. The housing carries electrically energized heating cartridges to heat the surface to 150.degree. C., or alternatively receives a heating block for the same purpose. A preprepared strip is mounted on a spool supported adjacent the housing.

  • Patent number: 5226465
Abstract: A mounting device for automative tires having a rotationally driven holder for gripping a wheel rim and a pressing device mounted on a stand for pressing the tire bead away from the horn of the wheel rim. The device has two arms guided by means of sliding bushings on a column so they can be moved laterally toward and away from each other. These arms are hinge connected at their rear ends to the sliding bushings so they can be pivoted by a motor drive. A pressure element that acts on the tire wall next to the horn of the wheel rim is mounted on the front free end of each arm. The two arms are designed so their length can be adjusted by telescoping. A linear drive whose adjustment element has a coupling element that automatically engages with the extensible inside part of the respective telescopic arm is mounted approximately in parallel above and below each telescopic arm.

  • Patent number: 4986328
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a tire on a rim and removing it therefrom has a device for rotating the rim, which is embodied as a pneumatic motor having a rotor and a stator with radially arranged piston/cylinder units and cams disposed on a circle, a device for firmly holding the rim of self-centering arms that are pivotable via the pneumatic motor, a device for forcing the bead edges of the tire into the rim bed that comprises rollers acting simultaneously on both beads, and a device for pulling the bead edges from or onto the rim, with an element for bracing against the wheel flange. Via the hydraulic motor that drives the arms of the holding or chucking device, a rim is firmly held and once it is firmly clamped is rotated via the motor. The apparatus is operated completely pneumatically.

  • Patent number: 4913950
Abstract: Patches are provided for repairing damaged articles made of rubber or plastic. Each patch has a main element and a connecting layer applied to the underside of the main element and also extending over part of the top of the main element. For repairs, several patches can be placed over each other and next to each other partly overlapping without the necessity of prior cleaning and roughening of the sites where the connecting layers overlap.
