Abstract: A projection screen structure and method of making same is described wherein a projection screen material is formed to the desired size and shape and defining a central viewing area of selected shape and aspect ratio surrounded by a digitally printed border. The digitally printed border typically has a matte or flat black appearance for enhanced light absorbency and reduced reflectivity, and reduces or substantially eliminates the appearance of overscan in an image displayed on the screen.
Abstract: An integral, dual projection screen structure for displaying an image from a projection source. The projection screen structure comprises a frame; first and second movable projection screens disposed within the frame, each movable screen having an operable roller for rolling and unrolling the screen and being mounted at the top portion of the frame; and a masking system having at least two movable masking panels disposed within the frame over at least two of the top portion, bottom portion and first and second side portions of the front side of the sheet in the second screen.
Abstract: A home cinema theater projection screen structure and method of making same are provided wherein a sheet of projection screen material of selected size is formed to a configuration having concave top and/or bottom edges, the projection screen material then being attached under tension to a mounting structure that defines an inwardly curved projection surface in the mounted condition whereby bulging of the projection surface of the screen is substantially eliminated. Movable side masking panels are included the structure in order to define a selected aspect ratio for the projection surface.
Abstract: A polymer sheet for use in a projection screen comprises polyorgano silsesquioxane microspheres that enhance light diffusing characteristics. Also disclosed is a projection screen comprising at least two glass plates and the polymer sheet disposed therebetween. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing a polymer sheet by incorporating the microspheres with the polymer.

Abstract: A molding for a frame for an image projection screen. The molding is wedge-shaped in cross section and a narrowest end of the wedge shape is for engaging with the back surface of the image projection screen. A surface of the molding adjacent the narrowest end includes an attachment surface for a adhesively bonding the image projection screen thereto; while the widest end of the wedge shape includes structure for coupling at least two moldings together.
Abstract: A wide angle lenticular lens system for a single piece rear projection screen including a plurality of substantially identical parallel and vertical lenticular lenses. Each of the plurality of lenticular lenses is substantially a single element lens and the shape of each of the plurality of lenticular lenses is substantially defined by a hyperbolic function.
