Patents Assigned to Strandberg Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4525937
Abstract: A moisture monitoring dryer control apparatus for a dryer having an electrically operated motor, a heater and an exhaust duct through which air from the dryer passes whose humidity level signifies the residual moisture in the goods being dried. The apparatus comprises a moisture sensor assembly to be installed in the dryer air exhaust duct, and a dryer control and display unit electrically connected to the sensor to receive electrical signals therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4399403
Abstract: A microwave moisture measuring, indicating and control apparatus for measuring the moisture content of material in an inspection area, comprising a microwave transmitting transducer including a modulated signal microwave generator and parabolic reflector for directing a beam of microwave energy through the inspection area and the material to be monitored therein and including a microwave absorping material layer in the path of the microwave beam directed from the reflector toward the inspection area. A microwave receiver transducer is located on the opposite side of the inspection area from the transmitting transducer and also includes a parabolic reflector for receiving the microwave energy monitoring beam after its passage through the inspection area and direct from the same to a microwave detector, the monitoring beam also passing through a layer of microwave absorping material at the receiver transducer.

  • Patent number: 4156843
Abstract: A moisture indicator and control device for measuring the moisture content of a moving web includes a modulated signal microwave generator, directional microwave transmitter and receiver antenna horns which are angularly mounted with respect to each other on one side of a moving web of material whose moisture content is being monitored. The transmitter and receiver horns are mounted within an enclosure with their adjacent edges in physical contact and with a selected optimum angle between them to minimize residual energy transfer from the transmitter horn into the receiver horn. Sine wave modulated microwaves are transmitted by the transmitter horn toward the web at a selected angle of incidence thereto. A portion of the modulated microwave signal is reflected by the web and is received by the tranmsmitter horn.
