  • Patent number: 8430951
Abstract: A system and method for a low cost fluid flow sensor is described. One embodiment includes a fluid flow sensor comprising a first resistance temperature detector configured for generating a flow signal, wherein the flow signal is based on a fluid velocity, and wherein the first resistance temperature detector is configured for a fluid temperature range; a second resistance temperature detector configured for generating a temperature signal, wherein the temperature signal is based on a fluid temperature; and a controller coupled to the first resistance temperature detector and the second resistance temperature detector, the controller configured for receiving the flow signal and the temperature signal, wherein the controller takes a first controller action when the temperature signal is within a temperature signal range substantially representative of the fluid temperature range, and the flow signal is within a flow signal range, wherein the flow signal range is determined based on the temperature signal.

  • Patent number: 7833299
Abstract: A filter element having a frame defining an interior volume and having exterior surfaces. Filter media is mounted within the frame so as to allow fluid to enter an upstream side of the media and exit a downstream side of the media. At least one component of a multi-component filter frame seal, the at least one component being positioned on an outer surface of the frame and substantially circumscribing the filter frame at a location selected to align to a complementary component of the multi-component filter frame seal. The complementary component is provided separately from the filter element.

  • Patent number: 7815720
Abstract: A dual-filter electrically enhanced air-filtration apparatus and method are described. One embodiment includes an upstream electrically enhanced filter; a downstream electrically enhanced filter; a first control electrode adjacent to an upstream side of the upstream electrically enhanced filter; a second control electrode adjacent to a downstream side of the downstream electrically enhanced filter; and an ionizing electrode disposed between the upstream and downstream electrically enhanced filters, the ionizing electrode having an electrical potential with respect to the first and second control electrodes. Optional field electrodes may be included to enhance the electric fields associated with the upstream and downstream electrically enhanced filters.

  • Patent number: 7513933
Abstract: A filter assembly particularly useful in electronically enhanced air cleaning systems including a fibrous filter media. A conductive electrode is affixed to the fibrous filter media, so that the conductive electrode makes physical contact to the fibrous filter media in a plurality of substantially planar locations. The conductive electrode is coupled to a potential that enables neutralizing charge that accumulates on the filter media during operation to be removed thereby maintaining high efficiency.
