    Abstract: A detection part (B), of a disconnection detection apparatus (1A), detects an open destruction of a detection resistor. An emitter of a transistor (Q5) is connected to an upstream end of a detection resistor (R1) through a diode (connected forward) (D2). A base of the transistor (Q5) is connected to a downstream end of the detection resistor (R1) through a resistor (R8). A collector of the transistor (Q5) is connected to an upstream side of a resistor (R4) of a determination part (3). In the detection part (B), the transistor (Q5) is turned on and off according to the difference in the potential between both ends of the detection resistor (R1). In an open destruction detection state, generated when the transistor (Q5) is ON, electric current supplied by the power supply 4 is fed to the determination part (3) through the transistor (Q5) as a detection result indicating that an open destruction has occurred.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for preventing water from penetrating into a wire harness, the wire harness containing a plurality of electrical wires and being adapted to fit into a grommet and to pass through a hole formed in a vehicle panel. The electrical wires respectively include a section which is to form part of a water-sealed portion. The electrical wires are arranged so that the sections forming part of the water-sealing portion are in parallel in a row. A first water-sealing agent is applied on the sections. A second water-sealing agent is applied over the first water-sealing agent, the second water-sealing agent having a viscosity higher than that of the first water-sealing agent. The parallel arrangement of sections are curled for fitting into the grommet, so as to form the water-sealed portion.

    Abstract: A connector assembly is provided with a connector (first connector) to be mounted on a circuit board and a connector (second connector) for holding a flat cable flat wire member). When the two connectors are connected with each other, an end portion of the cable is inserted into the connector to bring conductors of the cable into contact with mating terminals. The connector is provided with a plate-shaped holder, and the cable is supported on this holder in such a state as to be displaceable in widthwise direction. On the other hand, the connector is provided with a pair of locking pieces as a positioning portion. When the two connectors are connected with each other, the respective locking pieces directly come into contact with the cable being inserted into the connector from widthwise outer sides, thereby positioning the cable with respect to the connector in widthwise direction.

    Abstract: A tape-sheathing device is provided to eliminate peeling of a tape adhered to an electric wire, in which a first die, a second die and a third die having tapered holes are serially arranged. An electric wire fed by a feed roller and a tape are inserted together into respective dies, and the tape is installed incrementally on the electric wire by the respective dies. Opening portions are provided in the first die and the second die by notching a portion in the range of about 90° of the downstream end portions of the first and second dies, in a condition in which the opening in the first die and the opening in the second die are shifted by about 90° relative to each other. When the tape passes through the first die, it is adhered to a partial peripheral portion of the electric wire, adhered to about three quarters of the wire by passage through the second die, and adhered completely around the periphery by passage through the third die.

    Abstract: A lever 30 is mounted on a female connector housing 20 such that a part of the lever 30 is accommodated in a receptacle 11 of a male connector housing 10 together with a female connector housing 20 in a connected state of the male and female connector housings 10, 20. Thus, a movement of the lever in its opening direction is restricted by an outer wall of the receptacle 11, eliminating the need to provide a protection wall for preventing the disengagement of the lever 30 in the connected state. This results in a reduced size of the lever connector. Further, the lever 30 is formed in its outer surfaces with cam grooves 33 in the form of recesses. Thus, a mold for the lever 30 can be pulled outward, enabling the simplification of the construction thereof.

Accordingly, lock projections formed on the lock member engage with lock grooves in the connector housing so that the flat cable together with the lock member is prevented from slipping out of the connector housing.
