Abstract: A moisture barrier coating includes the reaction product of (A) at least one polyol and (B) at least one polyisocyanate. The moisture barrier coating further includes at least one amorphous thermoplastic material that forms a homogeneous mixture with the polyol, and is nonreactive with the polyol and with the polyisocyanate. A controlled release fertilizer, a method for the production of a controlled release fertilizer, and a moisture barrier coating composition are also disclosed.

Abstract: Moisture barrier coatings and sealants comprised of mixtures of organic wax and wax soluble polymer dispersed into one or more components of a thermoset polymer which may form a semi-interpenetrating polymer network when the thermoset polymer is subsequently cured on the substrate. The organic wax and wax soluble polymer substantially improve the moisture barrier properties of the thermoset polymer and provides an effective moisture barrier coating that is non-tacky at the cure temperature of the thermoset polymer, without the requirement for a cooling step.

Abstract: This invention provides oil soluble sulfhydryl compound scavengers which are salt compositions of the formula:
Mn+(R—CO2−)x(OH)n−x
wherein M is a metal ion whose sulfide salt is less than 0.1% soluble in water, n is 2 or 3, x is an integer from 1 to n, and R a hydrocarbyl radical containing from about 4 to about 19 carbon atoms, or mixture of these compositions.
A method is also provided to control odors produced by sulfhydryl compounds wherein the he said sulfhydryl compounds are contacted with the metal salts described above.

Abstract: This invention is to surfactant compositions which are organic salts of a polyamine and a carboxylic acid. The polyamine has the structure: ##STR1## wherein R is (i) alkyl or alkenyl containing from about 10 to about 22 carbon atoms or (i) R'--O--CH2CH2CH2-- wherein R' is alkyl containing from about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms;A is a divalent hydrocarbyl group containing about 2 to about 6 carbon atoms;and n is an integer from about 1 to about 3.The carboxylic acid has the structure:R"--COOHwherein R" is alkyl or alkenyl containing about 6 to about 22 carbon atoms.The surfactants may contain polar activators.This invention is also to compositions containing asphalt, a clay mineral, and the above described surfactant.
