  • Publication number: 20150240880
Abstract: An axle assembly includes an axle in frictional driving engagement with a wheel hub. A torque limiting assembly limits the amount of torque that can be transmitted between the axle and hub. The torque limiting assembly includes an arm or rod, such as the shaft of a bolt, which biases the axle and hub together to provide a predetermined slipping torque. The rod or arm is housed in a clamp which extends axially over the outer peripheries of an axle flange and a hub flange.

  • Patent number: 9097346
Abstract: A closure comprises a hub with a central opening and a head pivotally connected to the hub, the head sealing the central opening when in a closed position. A lip seal relief is defined by a stepped surface between the head and the hub so that when the head is closed, the relief or clearance is provided between the head and hub inhibiting damage to a seal.

  • Patent number: 7896187
Abstract: A pressure retaining closure assembly has a door hingedly mounted to a pipe, vessel, or hub extending therefrom with an arcuate locking ring movably retained proximate an outer perimeter surface thereof. The locking ring is suitable to contract out of a groove in an opening in the pipe, vessel, or hub extending therefrom into an unlocking position and is suitable to expand wherein an outer portion of the locking ring extends into the groove in the opening in the pipe, vessel, or hub extending therefrom into a locking orientation. A locking ring actuator is provided having cylinder with a piston therein. The piston has a rod extending axially therefrom with a portion extending beyond the cylinder. Optionally, a bracket is mounted to the portion of the piston rod extending beyond the cylinder and a bracket is mounted proximate the bottom of the cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20090084791
Abstract: A pressure closure having a round door with an arcuate locking ring having a plurality of arcuate locking ring segments connected by at least one connecting ring movably retained therewith proximate an outer circumference of an outer surface of the door. The locking ring segments may have at least one cavity extending through the arcuate length thereof. An arcuate connecting ring extends through each cavity in the locking ring segments retaining them together to form the locking ring. Alternatively, the connecting ring connects the locking ring segments together with connecting ring retaining links cooperating with the connecting ring and locking ring segments. Optionally, the cross-sectional configuration of the connecting ring is rounded. Advantageously, the optional at least one cavity extending through the locking ring segments has an axial opening extending the arcuate length of each locking ring segment.
