  • Patent number: 6139708
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for treating a surface of an article with a liquid material by dipping. This system includes (a) a major tank having therein the liquid material for dipping the article thereinto; and (b) a circulatory mechanism for circulating the liquid material through the major tank. The circulatory mechanism is arranged to make a flow of the liquid material through the major tank such that the majority of the flow is in one direction that is substantially along the longitudinal direction of the major tank. Thus, contaminants and/or bubbles are not distributed over the entire major tank, but are effectively promptly removed from the major tank. The flow of the liquid material may include a first flow of the liquid material in the major tank and a second flow that is lower than the first flow in position. The first and second flows run substantially in parallel with each other, before the first and second flows reach a downstream end thereof in the major tank.

  • Patent number: 5381668
Abstract: A method of forming an artificial snow surface and an ice crusher machine used in the method are disclosed. Also disclosed is a method of maintaining a snow surface. The surface forming method has the steps of spraying water onto a floor incorporating a refrigerating unit; freezing the water by the refrigerating unit to form an ice layer on the floor; shaving a surface of the ice layer to generate artificial snow consisting of fine ice particles; and forming an artificial snow layer having an artificial snow surface by leaving the shaved snow on the remain of the ice layer in the course of the shaving step. The ice crushing machine has a self-propeling device for propelling the machine body on the ice layer while shaving the surface of the layer to produce fine ice particles behind the propelling path of the machine. The surface maintaining method has the step of dehumidifying air present adjacent the snow surface to avoid frosting of water content in the air on the surface.

  • Patent number: 5336283
Abstract: A paint mist removing apparatus having a first liquid shooting section formed in a constricted passage of air laden with overspray paint mist. The first liquid shooting section scatters cleaning water from opening edges of a passage inlet of the constricted passage into an air flow passing through said constricted passage. The paint mist removing apparatus further includes an upwardly facing inclined surface for receiving the passing objects under the passage inlet, a downwardly facing surface continuous from a lower edge of the upwardly facing inclined surface, a curved section disposed between the upwardly facing inclined surface and the downwardly facing surface for deflecting the air flowing through the constricted passage toward the downwardly facing surface. The curved section for causing the cleaning water flowing down the upwardly facing inclined surface to scatter again toward the air in the constricted passage under the downwardly facing surface acts as a second liquid shooting section.

  • Patent number: 5327738
Abstract: A method of forming an artificial snow layer is disclosed. Water content is added to to atmosphere above a floor by a humidifying device, or water mist is added to the atmosphere by a water-mist supplying device. The water content or the water mist is frost-frozen by a refrigerating device 6 incorporated at the floor, thus forming on the floor an accumulated frost layer as an artificial snow layer. A method of maintaining the formed artificial snow layer is also disclosed. After the formation of the artificial snow layer, an atmosphere refrigerating device is stopped or reduced in its operation so as to release the maintenance of the atmosphere below the freezing point. Then, the refrigerating device of the floor is operated to prevent melting of the formed artificial snow layer so as to prevent coagulation of water content in said atmosphere on a surface of the artificial snow layer through humidity adjustment of the atmosphere by a humidity adjusting device.
