Abstract: A tubular joint having an outer part formed by a fitting end of a piping element, and defining a first axis, an inner part formed by a spigot end of another piping element, the spigot end received in the fitting end. The fitting end and the spigot end define a fluid internal circulation space. A flange attached on the outer part and axially abutting against a shoulder formed by the inner part. A layer of polymeric material, extending radially between the outer and inner part, having a radially outer and inner surface both surrounding the first axis and bonded respectively to the outer and inner parts. The inner part rotatable with respect to the outer part about the first axis, and the inner part defining a second axis forming a pitch angle with the first axis. The inner part, the outer part, and the flange limit the pitch angle to lower than 5°.

  • Patent number: 9797533
Abstract: A flexible joint for conveying a fluid in a fluid pipe in order to unite two pipes in leaktight and flexible manner comprises a tubular vessel having an upstream end for flexible and leaktight connection with an upstream tube, a downstream end for leaktight connection with a downstream tube, and a tubular bellows fastened in leaktight manner to the inside of the vessel, thereby defining two concentric spaces that are mutually separated in leaktight manner in normal operation. An inner space is provided in which the fluid flows between the upstream end and the downstream end. A peripheral space is situated between the inner space and a side wall of the vessel and is filled with an incompressible liquid. The joint further includes at least one sensor for detecting a hydrocarbon fluid in the incompressible liquid if the seal is broken between the inner space and the peripheral space.

  • Patent number: 6558084
Abstract: A connection device for connecting a submerged tubular structure to a floating support structure. The connection device includes first and second tubular connection elements that connect the submerged tubular structure to the floating support structure. The first tubular connection element cooperates with the second tubular connection element to form a first axial abutment in a pulling direction in which the submerged tubular structure is pulled, and a second axial abutment in a direction opposite from the pulling direction. The device further includes a locking and tensioning device that includes at least one actuator secured to the floating support structure and is mounted to pivot on the second tubular connection element about a hinge axis and against the effect of a return spring surrounding the pin so as to enable the first tubular connection element to snap-fasten onto the second tubular connection element.

  • Patent number: 6409428
Abstract: An apparatus for releasably securing a tubular structure of a floating installation to an anchor fixedly secured to an underwater floor has a first connection element mounted at one end of the tubular structure and a second connection element configured at one end to couple with the first connection element. The second connection element includes a pair of guides secured thereto which extend horizontally therefrom. A hinge device connects the second connection element to the anchor such that the second connection element is pivotably connected to the anchor. A plurality of cables connect to both the tubular structure and the anchor, whereby the pair of guides cooperate with the cables such that when the cables are under tension, the cables urge the second connection element to pivot and align with the first connection element.

  • Patent number: 5410969
Abstract: The invention relates to a steering device for a vehicle bogey fitted with wheels having pneumatic tires that run on a pair of runways forming a track along which the vehicle travels. The device comprises a steering caster whose mean plane is parallel or substantially parallel to that of the wheels of the bogey and which is capable of rotating about its own axis when engaging in a guide groove installed between the above-mentioned runways of the track ahead of each branch point. The caster is carried by the frame of the bogey via laminated link blocks that confer to the caster and relative to the bogey a small amplitude degree of freedom in rotation about a vertical axis passing through the center of the caster, and a similarly small amplitude degree of freedom in translation along the axis of the caster, but prevent the caster from moving relative to the bogey in the vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 5354104
Abstract: A flexible coupling for pipework comprises a rigid sleeve of circular section engaged coaxially around the ends of pipes to be coupled together and connected to each of said ends in sealed manner by means of respective annular gaskets of flexible and resilient material received coaxially in each of the annular gaps between the ends of the pipe and the ends of the sleeve. The sleeve is made up of an assembly of three rigid tubes in alignment along the same longitudinal axis and assembled together in sealed manner by connection means comprising annular gaskets analogous to the above-mentioned annular gaskets and by two sets of laminated blocks which hold the tubes rigidly in alignment on the longitudinal axis, but which allow limited amplitude mutual displacements thereof with resilient return along the axis and around the axis.
