  • Publication number: 20100285892
Abstract: The invention relates to a vibration absorber for mounting onto the outer circumference of a rotating shaft or axis having an inner part (3) of substantially resilient material for abutting against the outer circumference of the shaft or axis, and an outer part (2, 2?), which comprises at least two segments (2, 2a, 2b), that grips around the inner part and abuts it vibratingly, and serves as an inertial mass member. The segments (2, 2a, 2b) are configured at their two ends in the circumferential direction with connecting members (5a, 5b, 5a?, 5b?, 6a, 6b, 6a?, 6b?) formed integrally therewith for establishing a mutual latching connection.

  • Publication number: 20100179014
Abstract: The invention relates to a torque-splitting differential (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising two coaxially aligned lateral differential gears (10, 10?) that are spaced apart in the axial direction, each lateral differential gear (10, 10?) being mounted to be rotatable about a common axis of rotation D. The differential has at least two compensating gears (20), each of which meshes with both lateral differential gears (10, 10?). A compensating gear support (30), on which the compensating gears (20) are rotatably mounted and which is arranged between the lateral differential gears (10, 10?), is mounted to be rotatable about the axis of rotation D. The lateral differential gears (10, 10?) are designed as crown gears, of which the teeth have different diameters. Furthermore, the compensating gears (20) are spur-cut gears while the compensating gear support (30) rotatably rests against the lateral differential gears (10, 10?).

  • Publication number: 20100065364
Abstract: The subject matter of the present invention is a bearing device for the vibrationally decoupled rotary mounting of an intermediate shaft on the engine block of a motor vehicle. It has the following features: a. a radial bearing with an inner ring for accommodating the intermediate shaft, and an outer ring, b. a bearing housing provided for attachment on the engine block of the motor vehicle and for accommodating the radial bearing in a non-rotatable manner, and which forms a mechanical interface for the attachment of the bearing housing on the engine block of the motor vehicle, wherein the bearing device further comprises at least one rubber-elastic damper member provided to be disposed in a vibration-damping way between the bearing housing and the engine block when the bearing housing is mounted on the engine block.

  • Patent number: 7600913
Abstract: A system for measuring a temperature of an electrical device is provided. The system comprises a transistor and a microprocessor. The transistor is part of an electrical device and is operable to perform a first function for the electrical device. For example, the transistor is operable in a saturated state to control activation of a pre-charge circuit in an electronic power assisted steering system. The microprocessor is responsive to a voltage at the transistor. The voltage of the transistor varies as a function of temperature (i.e., heat emitted from the electrical device). The microprocessor is operative to determine a temperature of the electrical device as a function of the voltage, where the sensing of temperature of the electrical device is different than the first function.

  • Publication number: 20090010708
Abstract: The invention relates to a shaft and hub connection (20) for transmitting torque, a common longitudinal axis (X-X) comprising the following components: a shaft (22) which rotates about the longitudinal axis (X-X) and comprises an entraining longitudinal section having an untrue outer contour (26), and a hub (24) that is coaxial to the shaft (22) and encloses the shaft (22) with its internal contour (28) at least in the area of the entraining longitudinal section. The invention is characterized in that the outer contour (26) of the entraining longitudinal section of the shaft (22) and the inner contour (28) of the hub (24) have the shape of a perfect cone to such a degree that, when the shaft (22) and the hub (24) are assembled, they automatically self-lock, thereby holding the shaft and hub connection (20) together. The connection also comprises connecting means which prestress the shaft (22) and the hub (24), when assembled, in the direction of the longitudinal axis (X-X).
