  • Patent number: 4538640
Abstract: A multiposition selector valve of the rotary type includes a valve body having a single inlet port and a plurality of outlet ports. Fluid communication between the inlet port and any one of the outlet ports is provided via a check valve assembly mounted on the valve body, and via a fluid-providing conduit connected at one end to the inlet port via the check valve. The other end of the conduit is movable in rotary fashion for fluidtight engagement with any one of a plurality of valve seat areas associated with the outlet ports. The valve seat areas are integral portions of a flat metal disk that can be removed from the valve body to facilitate maintenance of the valve. A single handle rotates the conduit through its various selected outlet positions and operates the check valve assembly to open and close the valve at selected outlet positions.

  • Patent number: 4450869
Abstract: A pneumatic valve is disclosed in which a slide or spool is longitudinally shiftable between two operative positions. The slide is positioned within a body chamber with substantial clearance, and is laterally located within such chamber by elastomeric seals. A balanced valve system is carried by the slide and operates without applying any substantial lateral forces to the slide so that the elastomeric seals can maintain the lateral position of the slide. A manifold assembly formed with grooves open to one face which connect selective ports in the manifold is combined with a valve plate bonded to such face of the manifold block to cooperate with the grooves to form closed passages and to provide the valving surface against which the slide-carried valve elements operate. Because of the high clearance, the valve can operate even when substantial amounts of contamination enter the valve. The valve is also structured to facilitate automatic flushing of contamination from the valve.

  • Patent number: 4443162
Abstract: A fluid pump having manually operable and power operable sections 10a, 10b mounted within a unitary pump body 12 that defines at least one suction and one discharge port 14, 16. The manually operated section comprises a body section 12a defining a bore 20a that slidably supports a piston 24 for reciprocating motion that includes a piston rod 24a that extends outside of the body section and is operatively connected to an actuatable arm 60 pivotally atttached to the pump body. Flow passages 34, 42 including a check valve 32 communicate the suction port 14 with one portion 20a of the piston bore; another flow passage 49 communicates a discharge side 20b of the piston bore with the discharge port. The power operable pump section comprises another pump body section 12b that defines a pair of axially aligned bores 82 that slidably support pistons 80 and an eccentric 84 including a drive shaft 130 rotatably mounted within the pump body disposed intermediate and operatively engageable with the pistons.

  • Patent number: 4400143
Abstract: A dual drive pump is disclosed in which the differential area, double-acting piston and cylinder pump can be operated from a rotary power source or manually operated by pivotal movement of a lever. The manual operation lever is pivoted to the cylinder housing. A Scotch yoke cam drive is provided with a rotary shaft journaled on the manual lever. A Scotch yoke housing is connected to the piston and encloses a cam on the rotary shaft. A lock pin is installable in two different locations. When manual operation is required, the lock pins locks the shaft against rotation with respect to the lever. For power operation, the lock pins locks the lever in a fixed position so that the shaft is in turn held in a fixed location.
