Publication number: 20040156340Abstract: A method, Packet Data Access Node such as a CDMA2000 Packet Data Service Node (PDSN) and a packet data system for provisioning the PDAN with an interim prepaid quota for auxiliary service instances related to a connection with a prepaid subscriber. The prepaid terminal requests registration with the PDAN and a prepaid server returns to the PDAN an indication that the prepaid subscriber has subscribed to multiple service instances and to certain service options. Responsive thereto, the PDAN requests immediate pre-initialization of a prepaid quota for the auxiliary instances from the prepaid server, and installs the prepaid quota. When the prepaid subscriber requests the auxiliary instances during the connection with the PDAN, the prepaid quota is already installed in the PDAN, and data packets are properly routed. The PDAN may be a CDMA2000 Packet data Service Node (PDSN).Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2003Publication date: August 12, 2004Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (pub1)Inventor: Lila Madour

Publication number: 20030084147Abstract: The present invention relates to two methods, an apparatus and to a Service Capability Server (SCS) for controlling interactions between a network and a third party service. The SCS comprises capabilities for receiving a trigger request for at least one event from the third party service. The SCS is also capable of communicating with an apparatus in the network to add a trigger in a trigger table of the apparatus and capable of receiving a notification from the trigger table of an occurrence of the at least one event. The notification comprises the third party service reference, the reference to the at least one event and a reference to at least one user registered to the third party service within the network. The SCS is further capable of informing the third party service of the received notification of the occurrence of the at least one event.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2002Publication date: May 1, 2003Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (pub1)Inventor: Christophe Gourraud

Publication number: 20020146017Abstract: A system adapted to manage a plurality of calls, including a first call, comprises a first node including a memory for receiving a message announcing a through-connection for the first call and recording a record of the first call (including an indication of the through-connection) in the memory. The system includes a second node in electronic communication with the first node for making the through connection for the first selected call.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2001Publication date: October 10, 2002Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (pub1)Inventors: Eduardo T. Publication number: 20020078042Abstract: Affinity relationships are determined and communications are established between a first party user and second party user through a memory, a selection module, and a contact module. The memory includes a database with records corresponding to various users, such that each record is personalized according to characteristic information corresponding to the users. The selection module compares the characteristic information to determine a degree of affinity, and the contact module establishes a call connection between parties having a degree of affinity greater than some preselected amount.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2000Publication date: June 20, 2002Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (pub1)Inventor: Vicente Carlos Gutierrez Mata

Publication number: 20010036827Abstract: In a telecommunications network wherein a location area contains GSM cells having adjacent or neighboring UTMS cells, a dedicated procedure is employed to download information about a UTMS cell to a mobile station. After entering the location area, the mobile is notified of the presence of the UTMS cell. In response to the notice, the mobile is operated to acquire specified information about the UTMS cell from the network, such as frequency and scrambling code combinations, radio access bearer configuration, and information pertaining to intersystem cell selection.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 21, 2001Publication date: November 1, 2001Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (pub1)Inventors: Peter Hans Edlund, Mattias Hagberg, Walter Gerhard Alois Muller, Yngve Bengt Persson

Patent number: 5991330Abstract: Each frame of a pilot channel transmission in a spread spectrum communications system is divided into a plurality of synchronization slots. Each of the synchronization slots includes a pilot code, and at least one of the synchronization slots further includes a framing synchronization code. To extract frame and slot synchronization information from the pilot channel transmission, pilot code timing is first identified by applying a matched filter or correlation to a received pilot signal, identifying peaks, and using the peaks to find a timing reference indicative of synchronization slot boundaries. Next, the set of known framing synchronization codes are correlated with the received signal over the included found synchronization slots. Given that the location within the frame of the known framing synchronization code(s) is known, once a correlation match is found at a certain slot location, the boundary of the frame (i.e., the frame synchronization) relative thereto is then also known.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1997Date of Patent: November 23, 1999Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (pub1)Inventors: Erik Dahlman, Maria Gustafsson, Riaz Esmailzadeh
