The dynamic data is of a type that may change from one such attachment to another such attachment of the same device.     Abstract: A first signal representation of one or more of the multiple channels is encoded in a first encoding process, and a second signal representation of one or more of the multiple channels is encoded in a second, filter-based encoding process. Filter smoothing can be used to reduce the effects of coding artifacts. However, conventional filter smoothing generally leads to a rather large performance reduction and is therefore not widely used. It has been recognized that coding artifacts are perceived as more annoying than temporary reduction in stereo width, and that they are especially annoying when the coding filter provides a poor estimate of the target signal; the poorer the estimate, the more disturbing artifacts. Therefore, signal-adaptive filter smoothing is introduced in the second encoding process or a corresponding decoding process.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing a service negotiation between a mobile terminal and a server offering mobile services. A service request is received from the mobile terminal including a list of requested services, which is compared with a set of available services that the server can provide. It is then determined which services that were requested but are not available and cannot be provided by the server. A delta list is finally transmitted to the mobile terminal comprising the services not available, such that the mobile terminal can determine which services that can be used. A pre-defined tree structure is preferably used for specifying services in the service request and delta lists such that a single root node specifies all services in nodes subordinated to the root node. In this way, the amount of exchanged information and processing in the mobile terminal are reduced.

The control channel is transmitted after the first error detection bits and before transmission of the third transport channel. Whenever the control channel is transmitted as part of the frame, a sum of the first, second, third, fourth and fifth number of bits equals the fixed bit length, but whenever the control channel is not transmitted as part of the frame, a sum of the first, second, third and fourth number of bits equals the fixed bit length.

However, as with many signal processing techniques, calculation complexity can be performance issue. Thus, according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention, the noise cross-correlation matrix used in interference rejection combining is reduced by applying beamforming and signal combining techniques. In this way, the benefits of interference rejection combining are obtained while reducing the processing complexity and freeing processor resources for other activities.

    Abstract: A self-configuring node includes a number of data processors associated with corresponding ports of an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switch. When the node is placed into service, each of the processors automatically broadcasts an initial message to all of the ATM switch ports including each processor's identification and ATM switch port location. After receiving the initial message broadcast by the processor, a designated master processor stores the broadcasting processor's identification and ATM switch port location in a database and sends an acknowledgment directed specifically to the processor broadcasting the initial message. From that received acknowledgment signal, the processor recognizes the identity and ATM switch location of the master processor. Internal Control Paths (ICPs) are established through the ATM switch between processors using the identification and location information stored for each board processor.
