Patent number: 5339060Abstract: A protective switch device such as a relay switch includes at least one pole having at least one moving contact that cooperates with a stationary contact and a magnetic or thermal trip mechanism for assuring protection against overloads and excess currents and that acts on a control mechanism actuating the moving contact and that can be activated by a rotary control knob rotating about a pivot pin. Recocking of the control mechanism is possible from a "tripped" to an "off" or from a "tripped" to an "on" position. The control mechanism includes a lever for opening the contacts that pivots from an on position corresponding to the closing of the contacts to a position corresponding to the opening of the contacts. The opening lever is associated with a pivoting cocking mechanism, which is able to bring back and hold the opening lever in the on position. A trip mechanism is provided which is able to control the mechanical separation of the opening lever and the cocking mechanism so as to free the opening lever.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 1993Date of Patent: August 16, 1994Assignee: TelemecaniqueInventors: Christian Blanchard, Michel Lauraire, Didier Vigouroux

Patent number: 5300906Abstract: A current switching device includes stationary contacts, and movable contacts which are movable between a position in which the movable contacts engage the stationary contacts and a position in which the movable contacts separate from the stationary contacts. The movable contacts are mounted on a movable contact holder. A magnetic locking element includes a permanent magnet and is pivotally mounted about a fixed axis. An actuation armature is connected to the contact holder and is movable to move the contact holder. The actuation armature is movable in proximity to the magnetic locking elements such that the actuation armature is locked to the magnetic locking element by magnetic attraction with the movable contacts engaging the stationary contacts. An opening armature is movable between a rest position and a position in proximity to the magnetic locking element, such that the opening armature is locked to the magnetic locking element by magnetic attraction.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1993Date of Patent: April 5, 1994Assignee: TelemecaniqueInventors: Christian Blanchard, Michel Lauraire, Didier Vigouroux

Patent number: 5293002Abstract: A proximity detector has a casing containing a probe (4) and a printed circuit (3), the upper end of the casing being closed by a plug (35) provided with a filling orifice (14) and with connecting-pins (36). The nozzle of a plastic injector (13) is fitted in position within the filling orifice, said nozzle being provided with two adjacent ducts. A hardenable resin is caused by centrifugation to flow into the casing via a first duct while simultaneously driving-out the air which is present within the casing via the second duct, thus ensuring rapid and efficient filling. When the casing has been filled and the resin has hardened, the injector (13) is cut-off in close proximity to the plug (35). Complete filling can be checked by inspecting the surface appearance of the two leading portions of solidified resin flux which are thus visible at the level of the orifice (14).Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1992Date of Patent: March 8, 1994Assignee: TelemecaniqueInventors: Gilles Grenet, Catherine Ullmann, Gerard Pitault

Patent number: 5253343Abstract: A method for the management of a memory of message or similar information in a station of a data transmission network, having a bus arbitrator governing the access, to the bus, by the different stations, wherein the emission of messages by a station implies the sending, to the arbitrator, of a corresponding request and the storage, by this arbitrator, with the order being preserved, of all the requests received by the station, then subsequently the sending, by the arbitrator, towards the station considered, of permission to emit. The method comprises steps of the storage, successively in the memory, of the pieces of information to be emitted, with their order being preserved, the modification, when a request is accepted by the arbitrator, of the value of an index of access to said memory and the emission, whenever permission to emit is received by the arbitrator, of the information designated by an indicator indexed by said index. Patent number: 5249268Abstract: The process disclosed is appliable to transmission of data of the multiplexed series type between entities capable of emitting or receiving data, to or from the line. Each entity connected to the line can access all the data flowing in the line, and all the exchanged data are modeled by a distributed data base which is updated and maintianed by the fact that each entity stores and updates a local copy of the corresponding useful part of the data base it contains. Each time an entity is placed in service, a coherence check is carried out to ensure that the emitting and consuming entities interpret data in the same way. The coherence check is carried out by a protocol without prior contact or acknowledgement.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1990Date of Patent: September 28, 1993Assignee: TelemecaniqueInventor: Rene Doucet

Patent number: 5219416Abstract: Elastic devices (3) abruptly actuate a contact carrier (9) in the upward direction when a push-member (1) reaches a tensioning position (E) from a position of rest (R). In the event of any blockage preventing such abrupt movement a lever (24) constrainedly produces the movement when the push-member (1) continues its movement as far as a constrained actuation position (A). The push-member carries colored zones (101, 102). The contact carrier carries a colored zone (104). From the relative position of these zones viewed through a window in the casing (100), the user can adjust the positioning of the limit switch with respect to a movable member intended to actuate it so that the two phases of the actuation take place at the required points. The user can also check whether the contact carrier moves in response to the elastic devices or in response to the lever.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1992Date of Patent: June 15, 1993Assignee: TelemecaniqueInventors: Michel Rochard, Jean-Pierre Guymard, Pierre Neau

Patent number: 5218521Abstract: A converter circuit supplied with a pulsed current by a primary source is protected against overload by producing a first voltage representing the product of the mean pulsed current and a first duty factor and a second voltage representing the product of the maximum wanted power and a second duty factor. The first and second voltages are compared and the output power of the converter is limited if the first voltage becomes greater than the second. The invention finds a particular application in regulated voltage power supplies which must be kept within acceptable operating limits.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1992Date of Patent: June 8, 1993Assignee: TelemecaniqueInventor: Jean-Louis Augier

Patent number: 5196792Abstract: A detector having a housing (12), a mounting (3) which is able to adopt four orientations relative to the housing (12), and a detector head (4) which is able to adopt, relative to the mounting (3), two orientations in one of which a sensitive face (29) of the head is oriented laterally relative to the axis (Z) of the housing (12), while in the other orientation the sensitive face (29) is centered on the axis (Z). The mounting (3), which can be separated from the housing (12), can engage through either of two recessed faces (33, 34) of the head, by the sliding of slideways (56) of the mounting between a base (38) and protuberances (43) of the head. The position of association of the head relative to the mounting is defined by the abutment of faces (48) of the protuberances (43) against stop faces (57) of the mounting. A pivot (18) of the mounting is then fixed in an aperture (22 ) of the housing. This mounting is used in order to eliminate screw fixings.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1992Date of Patent: March 23, 1993Assignee: TelemecaniqueInventor: Michel Lafaye
