Abstract: A tool for use in transferring labels and appliques from one surface to another surface and for removing materials from a surface. The tool includes an elongated tool body having a taper portion, a grip portion and a blunt portion axially spaced along a longitudinal axis of the tool. The grip portion includes an enlarged area to be gripped by a user and is covered with a resilient cover material which is softer than the material of the tool body. The taper portion extends from a first longitudinal end of the tool body and includes sides tapering to a point which may be used for punching out small dye cuts, positioning stickers, or applying rub-on transfers. The blunt portion extends from a second longitudinal end of the tool body and is formed as an elongated, flexible portion of the tool which may be used to separate photographs attached to photo album pages.

Abstract: A blade unit for cutting sheet material including a base member assembly mounting a circular blade and a cover member for detachable engagement with the base member assembly. The base member assembly includes a supporting wall having a circular upper edge and a guard flange extending around the circular upper edge and protecting a portion of an outer edge of the blade from contact. The base member assembly is further provided with a straight bottom edge and a portion of the blade extends below the bottom edge to define an exposed cutting edge for the blade. An elongated guide structure tab extends from the bottom edge parallel to and adjacent the exposed portion of the blade for guiding the blade unit along a slot in a guide template.

A different spacing is provided between the cutting blade and guide pegs for the first and second head portions for cropping a photograph and cutting a corresponding backing mat for the photograph.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing, on an automatic continuous basis, successive album pages, each of which consists of a base sheet having a reinforcing tape bound thereto in overlapping relation with each side edge thereof, is disclosed. The apparatus includes a registration station for guiding and initially folding a pair of tapes in proper laterally spaced relation to receive a base sheet therebetween. A compression station is positioned downstream from the registration station and includes a pair of releasable clamps having engagement surfaces for completing the folding of the pairs of tapes into adhering relation with respective side edges of the base sheet thereby forming a web of album pages interconnected by the pair of tapes. A drive mechanism includes a servo-motor driven linear actuator for pulling at least one of the base sheets and the web of album pages downstream.
