  • Patent number: 5145091
Abstract: A resealable dispensing container assembly for moist products comprises a first container of bag-like form constructed of liquid impervious flexible sheet material with the moist products sealed therein. The bag-like container has a weakened tear line encircling a first predetermined area on a first side thereof to permit selective removal of the predetermined area to define a discharge opening for removing moist products from the interior of the bag-like container. A removable flap member is adhered to the bag-like container in overlying and adhered relationship to the predetermined area such that pulling the flap from the bag-like container tears the first predetermined area therefrom to open the discharge opening. A second container of box-like form and constructed of relatively rigid sheet material encloses the bag-like container. The box-like container has a first wall closely overlying the first predetermined area of the bag-like container.

  • Patent number: 4603779
Abstract: A glassware package formed from a foldable blank has a top wall, a bottom wall, a pair of end walls, and an open front and back. The top and bottom walls include means for retaining a plurality of glassware items therein. Each end wall includes a flat end wall panel and a pair of support panels extending inwardly therefrom. The support panels are joined to each other at a location spaced inwardly from the end wall panel and are supported off the end wall panel. The end wall panel and support panels together form a beam-type end wall which abuts the top and bottom walls and resists relative movement of the top wall toward the bottom wall. When the blank is printed on one surface only and folded so that the printed surface forms the outer surfaces of the package, the visible sides of the support panels, and thus the insides of the end walls, are formed from the printed surface of the blank, thereby allowing the insides of the end walls to have printed matter thereon.

  • Patent number: 4503975
Abstract: A display package for an article such as a nailpolish bottle is formed from a single sheet of material which is folded into the package. The package includes an article retaining portion and a display portion for containing display material. The article retaining portion includes a three layer bottom portion, an angle panel joined to one end of the bottom portion, and an upright panel joined to the opposite end of the bottom portion. The angle panel and upright panel are foldably joined at their other ends. The angle panel includes an opening dimensioned to allow part of the article to be visible for display purposes while at the same time to prevent the article from being removed through the opening. The display portion of the package comprises a single layer back panel which extends upwardly from the article retaining portion of the package. The display portion is a single thickness of material, while the package back is of a double thickness on the lower part of the package.

  • Patent number: 4364504
Abstract: An apparatus advances and registers web material relative to a cutting mechanism. The cutting mechanism cuts the web material transverse to the direction of material advance. The apparatus comprises a guide for guiding the web material to the cutting mechanism. A rotating cylinder is spaced from the cutting mechanism and adjacent the guide. Projecting elements are carried on the rotating cylinder and spaced circumferentially on the rotating cylinder a distance substantially equal to the distance between cut lines in the web material. The projecting elements have a surface portion which engages at least a portion of the web material adjacent the cut line and forces a portion of the web material out of the plane of the web material. The projecting elements further have a surface portion for engaging the web material and pushing the web material through the guide and to the cutting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4284197
Abstract: An improved receptacle includes a cover which is connected with a rear panel of the receptacle along a fold line to enable the cover to be pivoted between open and closed positions. Prior to opening of the receptacle, a front section of the cover is firmly held in juxtaposition with a front panel of the receptacle so that the cover cannot be partially raised under the influence of forces applied to the receptacle during handling. When the cover is firmly pulled open, a rip out section is torn from the front panel to form an opening which extends downwardly from an upper edge of the front panel. The rip out section is secured to the inside of the front section of the cover by adhesive. When the cover is closed, indentations formed in the rip out section are engaged by projections formed in the opening in the front panel to hold the cover closed.
