Patents Assigned to The Larson Company
  • Patent number: 5457925
Abstract: An improved ceiling system to be assembled under an existing ceiling. The ceiling system is constructed of materials so as to simulate naturally occurring materials. The support members simulate such items as logs, wooden beams, and the like. Panels between the support member also simulate naturally occurring items like latillas and saguaro ribs. In the preferred embodiment, the support beams are constructed through a casting method and are composed of foam which is then painted to simulate the desired naturally occurring material. In the preferred embodiment of the panels, they are constructed of the same materials so that the resulting assemblage is not only extremely light and easy to install and transport, but, is also less expensive than naturally occurring materials which are becoming scarce.

  • Patent number: 5316807
Abstract: An artificial frond for use with artificial plants comprises an integral sheet of flexible polymeric material molded generally in the shape of a frond having a central elongate stem portion and a plurality of elongate leaves extending outwardly from the stem portion. Reinforcing means sufficient to maintain the structural integrity of the artificial frond, including structural supporting rods and elasticity-imparting fiber material, are embedded within the integral sheet. The integral sheet is preferably a laminate having a flexible polymeric foam intermediate body layer and outer surface layers pigmented to simulate the color of a natural frond.

  • Patent number: 5171615
Abstract: An artificial frond for use with artificial plants has an elongate rod for providing structural integrity. A plurality of elongate leaves, each having a first end in engagement with the rod, extend outwardly from the rod. The first end of each of the leaves includes an aperture extending therethrough. The rod extends through the aperture of each of the leaves for attaching the leaves to the rod. A stem portion surrounds the rod and is in engagement with the first end of the leaves for firmly securing the leaves to the rod such that the stem portion and the leaves are formed generally in the shape of a frond.
