    Abstract: A magnetic recording medium for use in storing information is described, the medium comprising the use of a manganese-gallium alloy. More specifically, in one embodiment there is provided a magnetic recording medium comprising a substrate having a surface upon which is placed a magnetic recording layer, wherein the magnetic recording layer comprises a Manganese-Gallium alloy material with uniaxial anisotropy.
