Patents Assigned to Thompson Aero Seating Limited
  • Patent number: 11866981
Abstract: An actuation system for passenger seating has a first actuating member for actuating a door from an open state to a closed state, and a second actuating assembly for actuating the door from the closed state to the open state. The first actuating member may be a spring configured to allow movement of the door from the closed state to the open state. The second actuating assembly is power-operated. The actuation system allows the door to be opened and closed automatically by the user while still being operable manually.

Abstract: An actuation system for passenger seating has first actuating means for actuating a door from an open state to a closed state, and second actuating means for actuating the door from the closed state to the open state. The first actuating means may comprise a spring and allows movement of the door from the closed state to the open state. The second actuating is power-operated. The door can be opened and closed automatically by the user while still being operable manually, e.g. in the event of an emergency. This provides a premium feel without giving rise to safety concerns.

  • Patent number: 10569883
Abstract: A seating arrangement comprising at least one seat; a console adjacent the at least one seat; a deployable table assembly; and locking device. The table assembly is movable in a longitudinal direction from a stowed position into a deployed position in which it is located on an upper surface of the console. The locking device is operable to releasably engage the table assembly in the deployed position to prevent movement of the table assembly in a lateral direction.

  • Patent number: 10556690
Abstract: An armrest assembly comprising a base structure and an upper structure that has an upper surface providing an armrest. The upper structure is movable with respect to the base structure between an upper position and a lower position under the control of a lockable actuator that is operable to lock the upper structure with respect to the base structure in any one of a plurality of adoptable positions. A second locking device is operable to lock the upper structure with respect to the base structure in at least one of the adoptable positions, the locking device including locking elements that inter-engage mechanically when the second locking device locks the upper structure with respect to said base structure.

  • Patent number: 10543920
Abstract: A foot rest installation comprising a base structure that includes a footwell and may be provided under a seat, in a bulkhead or in a console, and a foot rest assembly. The foot rest assembly has a deployable foot rest support structure and a first foot rest component comprising a flexible structure, for example a net, having a first end fixed with respect to the base structure at a first location, and a second end coupled to the foot rest support structure at a second location that is spaced apart from the pivot axis along a front-to-rear axis. When deployed, the foot rest support structure extends downward and rearward from the pivot axis to deploy the net in the footwell. When stowed, the foot rest support structure extends upward and rearward from the pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 10279912
Abstract: A passenger seating arrangement includes at least one seating row, the (or each) row including at least a first seat located beside a second seat or an aisle and a partition assembly located between the first and second seats, or between the first seat and the aisle. The partition assembly includes a partition wall located between the first and second seats, or between the first seat and the aisle. The wall defines an opening and a screen is slidably movable with respect to the wall between an open state in which the opening is exposed by the screen, and a closed state in which the opening is closed by the screen.

  • Patent number: 9346381
Abstract: A vehicle seat has a carriage that moves linearly with respect to a base, and a locking apparatus for preventing unwanted movement of the carriage in the event of an emergency. The locking apparatus has first and second toothed components which inter-engage such that, during movement of the carriage with respect to the base, one of the first and second toothed components imparts movement to the other. A locking gear is engaged with the teeth of the first component for rotation thereby, and is movable into a locking state where it also engages with the teeth of the second component to prevent relative movement between the first and second components. The locking gear moves into the locking state in response to a decelerating force above a threshold level.

Abstract: A vehicle seat includes a carriage that is movable with respect to a base, and a locking apparatus having first and second components, each having teeth that inter-engage such that, during movement of the carriage relative to the base, one of the first and second components imparts movement to the other, the locking apparatus further including a locking member having teeth for selectively inter-engaging the first and second components, the locking member being movable between a non-locking state, where the locking member teeth do not engage the teeth of the first and second components, an intermediate state, where the locking member teeth engage the teeth of the first component, and a locking state, where the locking member teeth engage the teeth of both of the first and second components, the locking member being moved between its intermediate and locking states by moving the first component relative to the second component.
