Patent number: 6211766Abstract: A step-up coil of a high-voltage transformer for powering a cathode-ray tube comprises windings housed in chambers of a coil former. These windings are made in pairs. The inner end of the first winding of the pair is connected to an electrode of a first diode, the inner end of the second winding of the pair is connected to the electrode of like nature of the second diode, or alternatively, the outer end of the first winding of the pair is connected to an electrode of the first diode, the outer end of the second winding of the pair being connected to the electrode of like nature of the second diode. The inter-winding capacitances of the windings of the pair are thus non-activated, the corollary of this being a decrease in the value of stray oscillations of the output voltages.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1999Date of Patent: April 3, 2001Assignee: Thomson Television Components FranceInventors: Walter Goseberg, Daniel Goudey, Michel Malfroy, Samuel Nguefeu

Patent number: 6177855Abstract: A transformer, comprising: a closed ferrite magnetic circuit having an air gap; a rigid component filling a portion of the air gap; and, a flexible material filling the remainder of the air gap to substantially absorb vibrations of the ferrite. In the case of air gaps greater than approximately 1 mm, the flexible material fills approximately 1 mm of the air gap and the rigid component fills the remainder of the air gap. The rigid component may be of non magnetic, synthetic resin material. The flexible material may be a one component mastic, for example polysulfur, polysulfate polysulphide or polyurethane. The flexible material may also be a silicone type mastic, for example a neutral silicone.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1997Date of Patent: January 23, 2001Assignee: Thomson Television Components FranceInventors: Jean-Michel Bouillot, David Escudero

Patent number: 6020806Abstract: A degaussing coil designed to be mounted on the glass panels of cathode-ray tubes used to display color images wherein, the link between the ends of the winding of the degaussing coil and the conductors provides connection to the electrical supply circuit is encased in an insulating thermoplastic material. The degaussing coils is utilized for color television receivers.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1997Date of Patent: February 1, 2000Assignee: Thomson Television Components FranceInventors: Jean-Claude Sey, Daniel Vittoz, Christophe Lanaud

Patent number: 5982263Abstract: Transformer (1) for switched-mode power supply, equipped with a former (6) having chambers (9), each chamber (9) containing windings (15, 16), each winding (15, 16) having an outer side surface (18) generated by a straight line moving parallel to an axis (AA') of the former, and characterized in that the generatrices of all the outermost surfaces (18) of the windings (15, 16) contained in each of the chambers (9) are identically the same for all the outermost surfaces (18) of the windings (15, 16) of each of the chambers, these generatrices thus forming a unique cylindrical surface parallel to the axis (AA') of the former (6).Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1997Date of Patent: November 9, 1999Assignee: Thomson Television Components FranceInventors: Jean-Michel Bouillot, Thierry Coutureau, Herve Faivre, Denis Larche

Patent number: 5878482Abstract: A method of manufacturing degaussing coils designed to be mounted on the glass panels of cathode-ray tubes used to display color therein, the link between the ends of the winding of the degaussing coil and the conductors providing connection to the electrical supply circuit is encased by the injection, into a mold, of an insulating thermoplastic material. The method can be applied to degaussing coils for color television receivers.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1997Date of Patent: March 9, 1999Assignee: Thomson Television Components FranceInventors: Jean-Claude Sey, Daniel Vittoz, Christophe Lanaud
