Patents Assigned to Thos. Bentley & Son Limited
  • Patent number: 11446216
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of making solid cleansing compositions which comprise a non-soap anionic surfactant, a carrier, an emulsifier and water. The method entails preparing an emulsion of the components at an elevated temperature using excess water and subjecting the emulsion to cooling and solidification, wherein the water content is reduced. The invention further relates to the emulsions and to the novel solid cleansing compositions formed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 9731259
Abstract: A functional fluid useful as an emulsion in a cleaning product or a personal care product is the esterification reaction product of a) a triglyceride or a fatty acid or a methyl ester of a fatty acid, and b) an alcohol which comprises b1) a polyglycerol having at least 3 glycerol units (preferably polyglycerol-4), and b2) glycerol and/or diglycerol. The functional fluid is effective as a stabilizer and as an emulsifier for o/w and w/o emulsions. When a triglyceride is used as a reactant, glycerol and fatty acids are generated in situ by an interesterification reaction. Preferred functional fluids provide the significant benefit that they may be mixed into an oil phase and in a water phase before such phases are mixed together, and that such processing may be carried out at ambient temperature.

  • Patent number: 8697162
Abstract: Container containing a gassed acidulated beverage capable of producing a foam when the container is opened and the beverage poured. The beverage contains an additive which reduces the rate of release of the gas from the beverage when the container has been opened, without the beverage being poured. The additive has one or more of the following: an HLB value in the range 7-16; a molecular weight in the range 200-3000; and it is present in an amount of from 0.01 to 100 mg/l.
