  • Patent number: 11785900
Abstract: A forestry machine includes a ground propulsion apparatus, a chassis supported by the ground propulsion apparatus, a cab, an engine and a work implement. The chassis includes a front chassis portion and a rear chassis portion. The front chassis portion includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The rear chassis portion has a wood basket supported thereon. The cab is rotatably supported on the front chassis portion by a rotatable connection about a cab rotation axis to be selectively rotated 360 degrees. The engine is integrated into the front chassis portion. At least a part of the engine is disposed below an upper most surface of the upper portion. The work implement is movably attached to the cab. The work implement includes a boom movably attached to the cab, an arm movably attached to the boom, and a work tool attached to the arm.

  • Patent number: 8070170
Abstract: A machine (A) includes a frame (16) and a platform (58) on which a boom assembly (B) is mounted. Two arms (332) of a U-shaped pivotal member (330) are pivotably mounted to the frame (16) about a first pivot axis (380) perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the frame (16). A front end (302) of a mounting plate (310) is pivotably connected to an intermediate section (336) of the pivotal member (330) about a second pivot axis (382) perpendicular to and spaced from the first pivot axis (380). Two rams (400) are mounted on opposite sides of a rear end (304) of the mounting plate (310). Each ram (400) includes a lower end (404) pivotably connected to the frame (16) and an upper end (402) pivotably connected to one of the sides of the mounting plate (310). The boom assembly (B), the mounting plate (310), and the pivotal member (330) pivot about the first pivot axis (380) and/or the second pivot axis (382) relative to the frame (16) due to relative movement of the rams (400).

  • Patent number: 7699328
Abstract: A retractable step assembly (400) for a cab (C) for a mobile machine includes a leg (450) slideably received in a through-hole (408) in a platform (58) of a cab (C). An upper end (452) of the leg (450) is fixed to a lower end (434) of a stretchable spring (430) whose upper end (432) is fixed. A step (470) is mounted to the lower end (454) of the leg (450). The leg (450) is movable between a retracted position and an extended position in which the step (470) is nearer to the ground than in the retracted position. The step (470) can be stepped on by an operator to move the leg (450) to the extended position to thereby allow the operator to exit the cab (C) by stepping on the step (470). The leg (450) can be unlatched by the operator in the cab (C) to return to the retracted position under action of the spring (430).

  • Publication number: 20070145759
Abstract: A boom member (96) is pivotable relative to a platform (58) in a boom plane located intermediate the block ends of an engine (E) also mounted on the platform (58). The platform (58) with a cab (C) is rotatable by a turntable (46) 360° within the extent of a frame (12) moveable between adjacent rows of trees. The cab (C) includes corner partitions (23) extending between the front partition (228) and side partitions (226) at acute angles. A gullwing cover (200) is pivotably mounted to the platform (58) and has a ladder (208) extending over a cutout (204b) which extends over the engine (E) in an operating position and generally vertically in a service position. The air cleaner (71) is held in a spaced, parallel relation to the radiator (R) by its purge tank (65). The radiator (R) and a hydraulic heat exchanger (77) are in a spaced, parallel arrangement on opposite sides of the turntable axis.
