Patents Assigned to Titmus Eurocon
  • Patent number: 5069542
Abstract: A contact lens has an elliptical inside surface with a numerical eccentricity of 0.2 to 0.5 and a zenith radius of curvature of 8.0 to 8.4 mm. The inside surface preferably has a peripheral, circularly cross sectioned bevelled zone. As a soft contact lens, it has these dimensions when fully hydrated and preferably consists of a copolymer comprising of 50% to 90% hydroxyethyl-methacrylate (HEMA) by weight, 2% to 20% one or more unsaturated carboxylic acids, 2% to 20% one or more base monomers, 5% to 25% aliphatic acrylate or methacrylate, and 0.1% to 1% of a dialkylene-glycol-dimethacrylate cross-linker.

  • Patent number: 4618228
Abstract: A bifocal contact lens has two, differently-focusing lens parts with a transitional zone therebetween and an arrangement to orient the zone vertically in use. The focus of the lens part then closer to user's nose is preferably adapted for reading and the other for distance. Preferably, too, the transitional area runs across the optical and physical center of at least an optical portion of the lens.

  • Patent number: 4332922
Abstract: Process for rendering silicone rubber contact lenses hydrophilic by first reacting the silicone rubber with an oligomeric siloxane containing SiH groups in the presence of a catalyst and then subjecting the resulting equilibrated silicone rubber to a reaction with an aqueous base; or a silane addition reaction with a reactant containing C.dbd.C double bonds.

  • Patent number: 4214014
Abstract: Surface treatment for hard or dehydrated hydrophilic contact lenses, to reduce the deposit of impurities thereon, comprising subjecting the lens, after shaping and polishing, to a gas discharge, e.g., in an oxygen atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4095878
Abstract: A soft contact lens for use on the human eye formed from a soft material like silicon or a hydrophilic material. The lens has a generally spherical concave inner surface which conforms to the cornea and a generally convex outer surface. To maintain the correct orientation of the lens when placed on the eye it is provided with a flattened region along a portion of its periphery.

  • Patent number: 4073577
Abstract: A contact lens is made from a polymer hydrogel by photopolymerizing a hydroxyalkyl acrylate or methacrylate in the absence of a cross-linking agent. The polymer hydrogel can also be formed by photopolymerization carried out in the presence of a catalyst responsive to short-wave light. Heat can also be used in combination with the photopolymerization to assist in formation of the polymer hydrogel contact lens.
