Patent number: 5115306Abstract: A projection cathode-ray tube for a projection video apparatus, comprising a green-emitting screen including a terbium-activated lanthanum oxychloride phosphor. The disclosed phosphor exhibits a luminance maximum at a minimum beam size, a property advantageous for producing a high-resolution image. The phosphor is chemically stable at high temperatures. The phosphor shows no substantial decrease in emission efficiency even at about 80.degree. C., and the emission luminance is twofold that of the prior art. The green-emitting screen is made by the steps of: (a) settling the terbium-activated lanthanum oxychloride phosphor onto the inner surface of a cathode-ray tube, wherein the phosphor is settled from a suspension comprising a solution of potassium water glass and barium nitrate, and wherein the ratio of the weight concentration of potassium water glass to barium nitrate is in the range between about 20 to about 35; and (b) removing the resulting supernatant.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1986Date of Patent: May 19, 1992Assignee: Tokyo Shibaura Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Nobuyuki Tsuda, Masaaki Tamatani, Fukaya Ajiro, Nagai Hitosi

Patent number: 5029071Abstract: A multiple data processing system includes first and second microprocessors for executing the same data processing in parallel fashion. A selector selectively delivers one of the output data of the microprocessors to an external I/O device. A comparator detects an off normal data processing state by comparing the output data of the first microprocessor with the output data of the second microprocessor. An operation monitor evaluates the operation state of the microprocessors in response to a signal from the comparator and instructs the selector to deliver output data sent from a normal channel to the external I/O device.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1987Date of Patent: July 2, 1991Assignee: Tokyo Shibaura Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Tsuneo Kinoshita

Patent number: 5009527Abstract: A thermal transfer color printer for printing color images on individual sheets of paper. One sheet of paper at a time is removed from a stack of paper stored in a cassette and this sheet is transported by a reversible platen roller in a first or forward direction at a first predetermined rate. While the sheet of paper is gripped between the reversible platen roller and one or more pinch rollers, slack is removed by a slack removing device. A multicolored ink ribbon with successively arranged color segments also is transported in the first direction at the same predetermined rate. A thermal printhead presses against the reversible platen roller to press the ink ribbon and sheet of paper together as they move in the first direction. Energization of the thermal elements on the thermal printhead by color component signals corresponding to the current color of the ink ribbon causes the particular current color to be thermally and selectively transferred to the sheet of paper.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1986Date of Patent: April 23, 1991Assignee: Tokyo Shibaura Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masasumi Yana, Hitoshi Nagato, Kiyoshi Yamada, Shyoji Ueno, Kunihiro Shibuya
