Patents Assigned to Tomlinson Industries, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4044998
Abstract: Valve assemblies of the type often used for dispensing liquid foods and beverages. The disclosed valves each comprise a valve or nozzle body including a valve chamber connected with a lateral inlet passage and an axial outlet passage. A valve seat is formed in the chamber about the outlet passage. In one of the embodiments, the seat is in the form of a flat shoulder located circumferentially about the outlet. In a second embodiment, the seat is a curved transition surface between the outlet passage and a cylindrical valve chamber. In a third embodiment, the seat is a conically shaped lower portion of the valve chamber located adjacent the outlet. In all embodiments the valve element is in the form of a resilient cup member carried at the end of a rigid stem and adapted to engage the seat. The stem and the cup member are continually spring biased toward the seat by a compression spring which acts between the valve member and a bonnet screwed to the top of the valve body.

  • Patent number: 4037817
Abstract: A pinch tube type valve adapted to accept an elongated flexible outlet tube protruding from a liquid container for selective control of liquid flow through the tube from the container. The tube is passed through a passageway in the valve body for selective engagement by a stem which is reciprocable into and out of closing engagement therewith. An apertured tube receiving area is disposed in the bottom wall of the valve body adjacent the outlet end of the passageway to receive the tube in a desired position angularly disposed of the passageway to facilitate ease of liquid dispensing operations. A stop or tube retention member is removably received in the passageway at the outlet end thereof to retain the tube in its desired position within the receiving area.

  • Patent number: 4022062
Abstract: The specification and drawings disclose a gauge glass assembly including a gauge glass protected by a tubular shield including means for permitting visual observation of the gauge glass. The gauge glass is positioned in a cylindrical receptor which is in flow communication with the liquid whose level is being observed. The shield surrounds the gauge glass and has a length sufficient to enclose the exposed length of gauge glass. At the upper end of the shield an upper nut member is threadedly received on the shield and arranged such that when tightened it applies an axially directed force to drive the glass into the receptor. A lower nut member is positioned about the lower end of the gauge but is threaded to the receptor. Outwardly extending tabs or ears on the shield are engaged by the lower nut such that tightening of the nut drives the shield axially toward the receptor.

  • Patent number: 3976277
Abstract: A pinch tube type valve adapted to be mounted to a liquid container receiver to accept an elongated flexible outlet tube protruding from a liquid container disposed in the receiver for selective control of liquid flow through the tube from the container. The tube is passed through a passageway in the valve body for selective engagement by a stem which is reciprocable into and out of closing engagement therewith. The passageway is enlarged adjacent the inlet end of the valve body to permit easy insertion of the liquid container outlet tube therethrough. An apertured tube retaining area is disposed adjacent the outlet end of the valve body passageway to receive and retain the tube in a desired position relative to the container receiver to facilitate ease of liquid dispensing operations. The stem may also include a tube engaging protrusion arrangement when the valve is contemplated for use in pressurized liquid systems.
