Abstract: A device adjustable support comprises a bracket plate and a coupling mechanism including: a guiding track that is securely integrated with the bracket plate and that extends along a first curved and non-circumferential line; a course-keeping member that is integrated with the bracket plate; a first connector that is connected slidably to the guiding track so as to be slidable on the bracket plate along the first curved and non-circumferential line; and a second connector that is connected movably to the course-keeping member so as to keep sliding movement of the first connector along the guiding track.

Abstract: A capacitive-type touch control display includes: a rear plate including a first polarizer sheet and a TFT array layer; a front plate including a color filter layer, a second polarizer sheet, an adhesive layer, a transparent touch sensor layer adhesively bonded to the second polarizer sheet through the adhesive layer, and a transparent hard coating layer formed on the touch sensor layer; a liquid crystal cell; and a housing including a main body and an end flange. The main body has an open end. The end flange extends inwardly and transversely from the open end, and defines a front window that exposes a touch sensing region of the touch sensor layer underneath the hard coating layer. The end flange covers a peripheral region of the touch sensor layer.

Abstract: In a method for displaying a notification, a display device receives a push notification associated with an application program through a communication network, and a visual media signal from an external computing device. The display device subsequently generates a to-be-displayed message based on the push notification, and a visual media based on the visual media signal. Then, the display device displays at least one of the visual media and the to-be-displayed message on a display screen of the display device. In cases that the display device is connected to the external computing device, the display device displays the visual media and the to-be-displayed message simultaneously on the display screen.

Abstract: A point of sale system includes a display device, a pivoting mechanism, a first electronic component and a base having a top surface. The display device includes a casing formed with a first receiving groove and a screen coupled to the casing and movable relative to the base between unfolded and folded positions. The pivoting mechanism interconnects pivotally the display device and the base. The first electronic component is connected to the casing and is movable between an inactive position where the first electronic component is retracted within the first receiving groove, and an active position where the first electronic component protrudes out of the first receiving groove.

Abstract: In a method for selecting one of a plurality of channels, a channel selecting device that is coupled to a television device stores at least a channel statistical data of total watching time of each of the channels. In the method, immediately after the television device is turned on, the channel selecting device selects a preferred channel from the plurality of channels, which has been watched most frequently, according to the channel statistical data.

Abstract: A system for blocking access to programs includes a display device, an on-screen display (OSD) unit, a memory unit, and a filter unit. The OSD unit is operable to control the display device to display a main-rating menu having multiple main-rating options arranged in one dimension. At least one main-rating option is associated with a sub-rating menu that is displayed when the corresponding main-rating option is selected. The sub-rating menu has multiple sub-rating options arranged for display in the same dimension as the main-rating options. The memory unit stores information of which rating is intended to be blocked. The filter unit is to block or allow access to the programs based upon the stored information.

Abstract: A stereoscopic image display device is for use with shutter glasses having left and right shutter lenses and includes a display processor, a display screen, a signal generator, and a signal transmitter. The display processor is for receiving a video input signal and outputting a video output signal sequence according to a frame sync signal acquired from the video input signal. The display screen is for receiving the video output signal sequence corresponding to a sequence of left-eye and right-eye images and displays the left-eye and right-eye images in an alternating manner according to the frame sync signal. The signal generator is for generating a shutter sync control signal that is transmitted to the shutter glasses by the signal transmitter for controlling duty cycles of alternating operations of the shutter glasses according to the frame sync signal.

Abstract: A method for assembling a liquid crystal display device includes: a) assembling together a front frame, a liquid crystal panel and an optical plate unit in a dust-free environment to form a first unit in a manner that the liquid crystal panel closes an opening in the front frame and that a sealed state is established between the liquid crystal panel and the optical plate unit; b) assembling a circuit board to one side of a rear frame without requirement of a dust-free environment to form a second unit; c) assembling a light source to one of the first and second units; and d) interconnecting the first and second units without requirement of a dust-free environment in a manner that the light source is able to provide light to a light-entrance surface of the optical plate unit.

The first back plate has a first plate body with a first side part structure defining a first receiving space for receiving the first light source, and the second back plate has a second plate body with a second side part structure. The second back plate is connected to the first back plate in a manner that the first and second side part structures are opposite to each other. The reflector unit is disposed on the first and second plate bodies, and has a portion extending into the first receiving space. The light guide plate is disposed on the reflector unit and is disposed between the first and second side part structures.
