Patent number: 5459991Abstract: A composite crimped yarn comprising: at least two kinds of multifilament yarns, one of them being comprised of a crimped conjugate multifilament yarn comprising two kinds of polyester polymers different from each other in the heat shrinkability and positioned as a major component of the inner layer of the composite crimped yarn, the other of them being comprised of a crimped multifilament yarn of a single synthetic polymer and positioned as a major component in the outer layer of the composite crimped yarn. In the above, the length of the crimped multifilament yarn is 5 to 35% larger than that of the crimped conjugate multifilament yarn, part of the crimped multifilament yarn being migrated to the crimped conjugate multifilament yarn disposed in the inner layer and part of the crimped conjugate multifilament yarn being migrated to the crimped multifilament yarn disposed in the outer layer.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1995Date of Patent: October 24, 1995Assignees: Toray Industries, Inc., Toray Textiles, Inc.Inventors: Keitaro Nabeshima, Minoru Wakabayashi, Toshiaki Miura

Latent looped yarn, a fabric made of the same, and a method for manufacturing the latent looped yarn
Patent number: 5312677Abstract: This invention relates to a latent looped yarn having loops produced by an eddy current treatment and once potentialized therein before a weaving operation and revealed in a fabric, after the yarns are woven therein at least as warp yarns, by heat treatment, to give the fabric a spunlike handling and high yarn density. This invention also provides a manufacturing method for producing the latent looped yarn and high density spunlike fabrics utilizing the latent looped yarn.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1991Date of Patent: May 17, 1994Assignees: Toray Industries, Inc., Toray Textile, Inc.Inventors: Minoru Shiojima, Toshiaki Miura, Keitarou Nabeshima, Satoru Masuzaki -

Patent number: 3967471Abstract: In a knitting machine in which upon the application of abnormal tension to yarn, the yarn is released from a yarn engaging element and simultaneously the knitting machine is halted. A yarn replacing apparatus is provided comprising at least one vertical motion mechanism for receiving yarn released from a yarn engaging element and moving it upward into reengagement with the yarn engaging element. The vertical motion mechanism further includes a detecting device for detecting an abnormal condition in the yarn, whereby when abnormal tension applied to the yarn has been removed, the vertical motion mechanism continues to operate, whereas when the abnormal tension applied to the yarn has not been removed, the vertical motion mechanism is halted, and the knitting machine automatically again comes into operation only after the reengagement of the released yarn with the yarn engaging element.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1975Date of Patent: July 6, 1976Assignee: Toray Textiles Inc.Inventors: Fukuo Matsumoto, Teizi Okada
