  • Patent number: 7252796
Abstract: A movable die is held on the front face of a movable platen. Ejector pins are incorporated in the movable die. An ejector unit that is provided with an ejector plate, actuator rods, etc., is mounted on the back of the movable platen. In ejecting a molded product from a die face, the ejector plate is advanced to cause the actuator rods to push out the ejector pins. In the ejecting load monitoring method of the invention, a plurality of monitoring sections are provided in a movement area of the ejector plate (or the actuator rod), and an upper limit value of a forward thrust load of the ejector plate is previously set for each monitoring section. An alarm is issued when the forward thrust load of the ejector plate reaches the upper limit value set for any of the monitoring sections during the ejecting operation.

  • Patent number: 7134298
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a press-forming method for glass capable of uniformly heating press dies and a preform and preventing oxidation of the press dies. According to the press-forming method for glass of the present invention, a preform is placed between a pair of press dies in a press-forming chamber and the preform and the press dies are heated in an inert gas atmosphere. After the temperature of the press dies reaches a predetermined value, evacuation of the press-forming chamber is initiated. After the pressure of the press-forming chamber reaches a predetermined value and the temperature of the press-forming chamber are stabilized at a second predetermined value, the preform is press-formed. Preferably, an exhaust rate for evacuating the chamber is limited to a predetermined value or less.

  • Patent number: 7005998
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of detecting a malfunction during a die clamping step in an injection molding machine. A reference pattern is taken which shows a relation between a die clamping force and a position of a movable platen when die clamping is normally carried out. One or more monitoring sections are set in advance with respect to that position on the basis of the reference pattern and an allowable limit value of a die clamping force in the respective monitoring sections is also set in advance in a form of a linear function of the position. The die clamping force is monitored in the respective monitoring section during a respective die clamping step and, when its value exceeds the allowable limit value, it is decided that a malfunction occurs and an alarm is issued.

  • Patent number: 6928838
Abstract: The forming apparatus has top and bottom die assemblies which form a heated silica glass material by press forming. These top and bottom die assemblies include, respectively, mold dies, which are made of isotropic carbon, and core molds, which are made of vitrified carbon. The heating and pressing time of a silica glass element, which requires a high forming temperature, is shortened by pinching the silica glass material between top and bottom core molds by controlling a torque so as to produce a close contact condition which permits heat transfer from the top and bottom core molds to the silica glass material between the top and bottom core molds.

  • Patent number: 6914537
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of monitoring operation data for quality control with a little possibility that a nondefective product is mistakenly determined as a defective product even if the operation data fluctuates in a large waviness curve. Every time an operation data piece for quality control is obtained, a moving average of the predetermined number of data pieces lately obtained is calculated. When the deviation of a data piece from the moving average exceeds the tolerance limit, an alarm is generated. By employing the method of the present invention for monitoring operation data such as charging time, injection time and the amount of cushion in an injection-molding machine, the accuracy of determination as to a defective or nondefective can be improved.
