  • Patent number: 5599865
Abstract: The invention relates to a molded product containing 65 to 95% by weight of a polymer composition and 5 to 35% by weight of an inorganic filler. The polymer composition is a mixture of 45 to 70 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin having a melt flow rare of 10 to 60 g/10 minute and containing 0 to 8% by weight of ethylene, and 30 to 55 parts by weight of an amorphous ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer. The proportion (D) of the filler and that (C) of the copolymer have the relation expressed as D>155-37 lnC. The copolymer is a mixture of 30 to 60% by weight of a high-molecular copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 380,000 to 1,000,000 and 40 to 70% by weight of a low-molecular one having weight-average molecular weight of 150,000 to 330,000. The product has a coefficient of linear expansion not exceeding 5.0.times.10.sup.-5 cm/cm/.degree.C.

  • Patent number: 5548012
Abstract: An automotive weather strip comprising a base material, a urethane layer and an adhesive composition formed between the base material and the urethane layer, wherein said base material comprises an ethylene/propylene rubber and said adhesive composition comprises components (A) to (E), the weight ratio of component (A) to component (B) being 60:40 to 40:60,(A) an epoxy group-containing acrylic elastomer,(B) an ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer,(C) an organic peroxide,(D) at least one member selected from the group consisting of a primary amines and an imidazole compound, and(E) calcium oxide. The present invention can provide an automotive weather strip in which a base material containing the ethylene/propylene rubber has been strongly adhered to the urethane layer forming a surface layer, and which can be produced efficiently without requiring many production steps and also without using a hygienically undesirable solvent-containing adhesive.

  • Patent number: 4785584
Abstract: A weather strip for the door pane of a motor vehicle in which the ends of front and rear vertical parts of the stripping are coupled to each other by a die molded portion. The stripping has a nearly U-shaped cross section such that a pane housing groove is defined by the inner, intermediate and outer walls of the stripping when it is fitted into a pane channel. Upper portions of the vertical parts of the stripping have an asymmetric cross section wherein at least the inner wall of the upper portion is provided with a curved seal lip extending toward the pane housing groove. Lower portions of the vertical parts of the stripping have a symmetric cross section such that both the inner and outer walls of the lower portion are provided with curved seal lips extending toward the pane housing groove.
