  • Patent number: 5667364
Abstract: A downhole hydraulic pump apparatus for a well assembly including a rigid, elongated production tubing extending into a formation producing production fluid. The hydraulic pump apparatus includes an elongated tube and a bottom-hole assembly mounted to a lower end of the elongated tube. The bottom-hole assembly includes an upper assembly connected to a middle assembly connected to a lower assembly. The upper assembly has an upper bore therethrough. The middle assembly has a middle longitudinal bore therethrough, a fluid longitudinal port therethrough and a discharge port. The lower assembly has a lower bore and a safety valve therein. A pump assembly is formed for sliding receipt in the elongated tube. The pump assembly includes an upper pump body formed for sliding receipt in the upper assembly and a lower extension assembly connected to the upper pump body. The lower extension assembly has a first portion and a second portion.

  • Patent number: 5651664
Abstract: A hydraulic pump apparatus (35) for a well assembly (36) including a rigid, elongated tubular casing (37). extending into a formation producing production fluid. The hydraulic pump apparatus (35) including an elongated tube (40) and a bottom-hole assembly (42) mounted to a lower end of the tube (40). The bottom-hole assembly (42) includes an outwardly facing sealing surface (54). A "free" jet pump assembly (55) is included having a pump body (56) formed for sliding receipt in the tube (40) and the pump receiving passage (49). The pump body (56) includes a lower seal (60) mounted to an inwardly facing surface (62) of the jet pump assembly (55) for sealing engagement with the outwardly facing sealing surface (54) of the discharge port (51) to permit discharge of exhausted production fluid from the jet pump assembly (55) through the discharge port (51).

  • Patent number: 5509482
Abstract: A perforation trigger bypass conduit assembly (10) for a well perforation gun (17) positioned in a well casing (12) at a down-hole location below a tubular completion assembly (16). A pressure sensing device (20) senses a detonation pressure of fluid communicated from a pump (21) through bypass conduit assembly (10) to the sensor (20). The sensing device (20) triggers the gun upon sensing a pressure surpassing a predetermined value, which perforates the casing (12). The bypass conduit assembly (10) is formed to enable blocking of the bypass conduit assembly (10) after triggering of the perforation gun (17) to prevent pumping of production and power fluid back into the formation upon severing of a portion (34) of the conduit assembly (10). Blocking can be effected by removing a member (25) which contains a passageway (51) forming part of the bypass conduit assembly (10) and replacing the removable member (25) with a passageway-free insert member (35).

  • Patent number: 5209651
Abstract: A deep well pump for positioning in a bottom hole assembly and having at least one fluid pump and at least two fluid powered motors with the pump and motor pistons carried in alignment on the piston rod. The pump includes passages for delivering a power fluid to one end of each of the motor cylinders and for receiving exhaust fluid from the other end of the motor cylinders, and a valve for reversing this operation. A first sleeve is positioned around the first motor cylinder defining a power fluid path from one end of the first cylinder to one end of the second cylinder, a second sleeve is positioned around the first sleeve defining an exhaust fluid path from the other end of the first motor cylinder, and a third sleeve is positioned around the second motor cylinder defining an exhaust fluid path from the other end of the second motor cylinder, with the first and second exhaust fluid paths interconnected.
