  • Patent number: 8142392
Abstract: A milk pump for pumping milk from a woman's breast, includes a receptacle for receiving milk pumped from the woman's breast and a manual pumping unit. The pumping unit includes a displacement space surrounded by a wall that defines a longitudinal axis and having a predetermined cross-sectional dimension. This displacement space is or may be connected to a breast hood. The pump unit includes a suction member which is displaceable within displacement space substantially along its longitudinal axis. The suction member is formed as a generally cup-shaped membrane so that a first portion of said cup-shaped membrane extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of said displacement space, whereas a second portion extends substantially in circumferential direction. The membrane is able to move substantially free of friction relative to a wall of the displacement space.

  • Patent number: 7766866
Abstract: A milk pump for pumping milk from a woman's breast comprises a breast hood for receiving tightly a woman's breast. Furthermore, there is a milk collecting arrangement for receiving milk pumped from said woman's breast. This milk collecting arrangement includes a support and a downwards directed opening in the support for providing a suction communication to the breast hood. Moreover, the milk collecting arrangement comprises a manual pumping unit above the said opening. The manual pumping unit includes a wall forming and surrounding a displacement space which comprise a front wall and a peripheral wall extending in longitudinal direction. A suction device is displaceable inside the displacement space to provide suction through the opening, wherein the displacement is provoked by an actuation device. Furthermore, there is a latching arrangement for releasably connecting at least part of the wall of the displacement space to the support for an easy exchange.

  • Patent number: 6290671
Abstract: The partial vacuum generated in a vacuum chamber by a suction pump via an air aspirating line and a hose can be changed by admitting leakage air through an air supply line. The supplied amount of leakage air is determined by a relative movement of a regulating groove and a leakage groove in respect to each other, and the partial vacuum in the vacuum chamber is regulated in this way. Since in a breast pump the partial vacuum generated in the vacuum chamber is transmitted to the funnel-shaped breast body, it is possible in this way to also regulate the partial aspiration vacuum over the breast.

  • Patent number: 5810772
Abstract: In a pump for pumping mother's milk, at least one funnel-like breast body is connected to a vacuum conduit in order to pump mother's milk into a milk collection container. To this end, the pump comprises at least one suction chamber and a conduit system leading out from said suction chamber. The conduit system is to be connected with the vacuum conduit and the funnel-like breast body. While a pumping unit applies vacuum to the suction chamber, an interrupting device interrupts the vacuum applied to the suction chamber cyclically during a predetermined cycle period. There is a control device for controlling the cycle period.
