  • Patent number: 8756737
Abstract: An air tool with a modularized air pad includes several air pad units, each of which has one pad body whose top surface is formed with an accommodating recess and whose one side has an air opening; two air bags disposed at the bottom of the accommodating recess, each of the air bags having two air chambers and connecting to the air opening via an air pipe; and one buffer pad accommodated in the accommodating recess on the air bags. When the air opening is selected to inflate the air chamber of one air bag, the buffer pad undergoes an upward swing motion according to the inflated air bags.

  • Patent number: 8347434
Abstract: An air-operated device for better sleep includes a pad whose inside has an interlayer composed of two sheets stacked together. The top surface of the pad has an accommodating cavity in communications with the interlayer. The pad has an air vent. Two airbags are disposed adjacently in the accommodating cavity. The airbags are in touch with the interlayer by the adjacent side. The airbags are connected to the air vent of the pad via an air-transporting pipe, respectively. An action pad is disposed correspondingly in the accommodating cavity and depresses the two airbags. A controller is connected to the air vent of the pad to inflate and deflate the airbags. When the airbags are inflated, the action pad is pushed by the air bags to sway upward.

  • Patent number: 6653066
Abstract: Disclosed is a device and method of use for detecting polyvalent analytes such as antibody to the AIDS virus, utilizing an inverse sandwich method. The test device comprises a first substance having an epitope, bound to a label and capable of moving within the test device. The test device further comprises a second substance immobilized to the test device and spatially separated from the first substance. The second substance has an epitope substantially similar to the epitope of the first substance. Upon application to the test device, the polyvalent analyte binds to the first substance and moves within the test device to the location of the second substance with both polyvalent analyte and first substance are immobilized at location of the second substance. Polyvalent analyte is detected by the presence of the label at the location of the second substance. Also disclosed is a control substance for use with the device that can be used to determine completion of the test and viability of the device.

  • Patent number: 6528273
Abstract: Coagulation control compositions suitable for use in connection with PT and/or APTT assays are disclosed along with their methods of preparation and methods of use. Preferred coagulation controls comprise plasma and an anticoagulant having activity for enhancing the activity of antithrombin III (ATIII) or of heparin co-factor II (HCII) against thrombin or against a clotting factor selected from the group consisting of factors IXa, Xa and XIa. The anticoagulant is preferably a glycosaminoglycan such as heparin, a heparin derivative or a heparin analog. The anticoagulant is preferably combined with (1) an abnormal plasma (e.g. activated plasma or factor-deficient plasma) and/or (2) a primate plasma (e.g. human plasma), and a non-primate mammalian plasma (e.g. bovine plasma). In the latter case, the non-primate mammalian plasma is preferably present in the coagulation control composition in an amount of not more than about 12% by volume, relative to total volume.
