Abstract: A system and method for constructing data concerning items of an asset. The method comprises: providing a user data entry interface; receiving a plurality of data values, each into a data field of the interface, wherein the plurality of data fields comprise a specification for the item and each data field of the specification describes an attribute of the item, and storing the specification into a database on a computer system. The system includes a data store for item specification data provided on a host computer coupled to a network; and a data input toolset comprising at least an item type manager and an item specification manager.

Abstract: An automated system for generating an analysis of a CAD drawing and annotating the drawing. In one embodiment, the invention is an application for a computer comprising a virtual area locater for a computer drawing. In another aspect, the invention is a method for marking a computer aided design drawing using a processing device. The method includes the steps of: finding at least one reference vector in the drawing; determining an area definition based on drawing data relative to said reference vector; and marking said drawing to indicate a area definition. The step of finding a reference vector may include defining a door gap.

Abstract: The system of method for building a database for the design and execution of projects is described. This system includes a host computer system in data communication with a central database and at least first and second databases. The central data base stores information relating to the design and execution of the project predetermined to be important to one or more project team members. The first and second databases are in communication with first and second computer systems which may be remotely located from each other and which execute standard industry software tools. The host computer system is configured to monitor a plurality of transactions to the first database. Each of the plurality of transactions stores data in the first database. The monitoring includes comparing the plurality of a transaction against a predetermined transaction.

Abstract: A data management system operable between a set of presentation layer servers, a set of application servers and a set of data servers. The data management system includes: a session manager routing users to at least one of a plurality of presentation layer servers; an application manager coupling business applications provided by the business application servers responsive to user interaction with the presentation servers; and a data manager coupling business applications to at least one of a plurality of data sets.
