Patents Assigned to TruForm Optics
  • Patent number: 8696117
Abstract: The different illustrative embodiments provide a method, computer system, and computer program product to fit a lens. The method comprises obtaining an image of the lens. The method also comprises identifying an edge of a lens on an eye in the image. The method also comprises associating a number of zones with the image of the lens based on the edge of the lens. The method also comprises identifying the value for each zone in the number of zones based on intensities within the lens. The method also comprises designing a new lens based on the value to reach a desired value.

  • Patent number: 7862176
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and data processing system for designing a contact lens. A sagittal image of an anterior portion of an eye having a sclera is measured. Measuring is performed using a digital imaging device. Measuring includes measuring the sclera. A sagittal image is formed. A shape of the eye is derived using the sagittal image, wherein the shape includes the sclera. The shape is converted to a curvature of a contact lens. The curvature is designed such that the contact lens, once manufactured, can be worn over a surface of the eye.

  • Patent number: 7296890
Abstract: A contact lens including a single component lens sized and dimensioned for placement on a cornea of an eye. The single component lens includes a first base curve for the back surface of the single component lens, wherein the first base curve is associated with the first sub-axis; a second base curve for the back surface, wherein the second base curve is associated with the second sub-axis; a third base curve for back surface, wherein the third base curve is associated with the third sub-axis; and a fourth base curve for the back surface, wherein the fourth base curve is associated with the fourth sub-axis. The first base curve, the second base curve, the third base curve, and the fourth base curve are selected to form a shape for the back surface of the single component lens that conforms to a measured shape of the cornea.
