Patents Assigned to Trusco Tank Inc.
  • Patent number: 5126095
Abstract: A method and apparatus for constructing an above ground concrete encased storage tank. The apparatus has a support assembly that extends from the baseplate of a concrete form, that supports, elevates, and secures an inner storage tank from the form baseplate, so that the tank may be completely surrounded by concrete. The form has removable walls that may be pivotally attached to the baseplate and initially in a horizontal position. The support assembly has anchor bolts that extend through holes in the baseplate. The anchor bolts are screwed into anchor nuts that are attached to a pair of brackets. The anchor nuts and brackets are spaced from the baseplate by sleeves that fit over the threaded portions of the anchor bolts. The brackets are constructed to support the storage tank, which is placed in the form on top of the support assembly. The tank is then fastened to the support assembly.

  • Patent number: 5102005
Abstract: An underground storage tank assembly and method for fabricating the same are disclosed. A steel primary fluid storage tank is provided having an outer, peripheral surface. A secondary fluid storage container being formed of curable plastic material and having a substantially smooth inner surface is tightly secured about the outer, peripheral surface of the primary fluid storage tank. The interstitial spaces formed between the outer surface of the primary container and the inner surface of the secondary container permit the desired migration of fluid therethrough to allow the detection of any fluid leaking through the primary tank or secondary tank. Various methods for forming the secondary fluid storage container are disclosed. The outer surface of the primary tank and/or the inner surface of the secondary fluid storage container may be textured for applications requiring enhanced fluid migration.

  • Patent number: 5060817
Abstract: A secondary containment capsule for enclosing primary storage tanks made of one or more standard axial portions and end caps is disclosed. Each of these segments are separately molded from a curable plastic material such as fiberglass reinforced polyester. Axial segments are separately slid over the primary tank and joined together at their mating ends, forming a longitudinal cylinder covering the longitudinal sides of the primary tank. The molded end caps are then placed over the outer ends of the longitudinal cylinder formed by the axial segments to completely enclose the primary tank. The same end caps and axial segments can be used for enclosing primary tanks having the same diameter but different lengths. In another embodiment, the one or more substantially cylindrical sections of the secondary containment capsule are formed on a male mold and split longitudinally for removal from the mold.

  • Patent number: 4714170
Abstract: Large storage tank structures having relatively smooth internal surfaces free of any unwelded seams and gaps and particularly free of gaps between meeting parts which may change substantially with differential expansion and other forces thereon are disclosed. This allows the application of suitable corrosion-resisting coating materials to the internal surfaces of the tank which coating will maintain its integrity throughout the expected useful life of the coating and which will be conducive to meaningful inspection and local and/or entire recoating to prolong the life of the tank.
