  • Patent number: 10543808
Abstract: Method for preventing security breaches via the two-thief method of attack of passive remote keyless entry systems for vehicles. The method involves the transmission of a signal between a fob and the vehicle, where the level of the signal changes in a particular pattern. At the receiving side, anomalies in the pattern of the received signal (e.g., levels, timing) are detected and used to detect attempts to mimic the signal.

  • Patent number: 10493986
Abstract: A vehicle driver assist system includes an expert evaluation system to fuse information acquired from various data sources. The data sources can correspond to conditions associated with the vehicle as a unit as well as external elements. The expert evaluation system monitors and evaluates the information from the data sources according to a set of rules by converting each data value into a metric value, determining a weight for each metric, assigning the determined weight to the metric, and generating a weighted metric corresponding to each data value. The expert evaluation system compares each weighted metric (or a linear combination of metrics) against one or more thresholds. The results from the comparison provide an estimation of a likelihood of one or more traffic features occurring.

  • Patent number: 10488738
Abstract: An apparatus for moderating the environment of a driver assist camera comprises (a) a housing in which the driver assist camera is mountable and (b) a bracket configured and dimensioned to receive and retain the housing. The bracket when installed in a vehicle is attached to a window of the vehicle. A thermally conductive body is movably mounted on the bracket. The housing when being received in the bracket contacts and moves the thermally conductive body relative to the bracket so as to press the thermally conductive body against the window and permit heat from the housing to be conducted to the windshield, thereby moderating the environment of the driver assist camera when mounted in the housing.

  • Patent number: 10337576
Abstract: A brake pad wear measuring system for measuring brake pad wear for a vehicle disc brake system includes a first coil excitable to create a first magnetic field, and a first target associated with the first coil. The first coil and the first target are configured for movement relative to each other in response to application of the disc brake system. The relative movement causes the first target to move within the first magnetic field and affect the inductance of the first coil. The brake pad wear measuring system also includes a second coil excitable to create a second magnetic field, and a second target associated with the second coil. The second coil and the second target are configured for movement relative to each other in response to application of the disc brake system. • Patent number: 10330542
Abstract: A torque sensor assembly for use in a vehicle power steering system has magnets, coaxial first, second, and third flux closure members around the magnets, and first and second magnetic sensors. Each of the plurality of magnets emits a magnetic field. The second flux closure member is between the first and third flux closure members. The first and third flux closure members collect the magnetic fields having a first polarity. The second flux closure member collects the magnetic fields having a second polarity that is opposite the first polarity. The first and second magnetic sensors are positioned to have like polarity. The first sensor is between the first and second flux closure members. The second sensor is between the second and third flux closure members. A torque signal is calculated by subtracting a second signal generated by the second sensor from a first signal generated by the first sensor.
