    Abstract: Embodiments of an apparatus for acquiring, storing, transmitting and displaying stereoscopic images are disclosed. Some of the benefits of embodiments of this apparatus include simultaneous left/right view acquisition, transmitting and displaying images from a stereoscopic camera, stereoscopic digital zooming wherein a subset of pixels is displayed, pan-tilt-zooming of the apparatus, and interactive adjustment of images. Embodiments of the disclosed apparatus are capable of producing real-time, stereoscopic image data from various illumination wavelengths, coupling to other optical instruments, changing sensor exposure parameters, storing a stereoscopic single data stream, and selectively adding a filter component.
